i AM 76 YEARS OF AGE AND RETIRED. I started model railroading about 1948 with Marklin HO three rail
but then progressed to American HO and had a two room lay-out in my parents home and passed from one room to thr othrt through a hole I chissled in the wall ad decorated as a tunnel portal. I purchased most of
my trains a America`s Hobby Center in New York who gave me excellent service for many years and I received everything by parcel post very well packed and I never lost anything. I believe they no longer exist. I also boughtsome things from Walters but I found thm a bit expensive for my pocket. I continued developing my lay-out until 1965 when I got married and had to move to a small house. Shortly after I was forced to dismantle my layout an it has been in crates, drawers and trunks ever since, but the fire never went out and I have been reading model trains ever since and everytime I have travelled to USA or Unite Kingdom, I have always raided the model hobbyshops and have many locos and kits I have never used. I now have grandsons going on 17 and I am hoping to get them to join and help re assemble a layout.
That will be all to start with
