Angeleño from Los Angeles area, 60's land of SP, ATSF, & UP to IL in '99 - N scale dreamer - Got Atlas N scale train Dec '69, got back in 2000 wanting to make a layout & run ATSF trains passenger & SP cattle stock cars for feed lot at Puente Ave & Valley Blvd. Never saw live mainline steam in 50's, except Griffith Park or Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, did see RS-1 or RS series SP in '53, Highland Park and ATSF/SP Diamond nearby, Los Angeles near Arroyo Seco Parkway, SP F3-F7A/B sets at Puente cattle feedlot next to Valley Blvd. lived next to ATSF line across driveway in Arcadia, CA '70. Got 1st train, 027 Marx at 9, Lionel (2 yrs later) GE 44 ton-like, but bigger, saw that at Ft. Madison, Iowa a few yrs ago.
Want to do San Gabriel Valley area SP & ATSF layout. 10'x10' space available, (+ 2.5' for room & closet doors), 3 walls, less desk 2'x5' area, walk-in with lift-out 2.5'x1' section (at walk-in opening).
Was Senior Electronic Technican RF/FM, IT product support tech for online sales, tech writer, illustrator, .moved to North Central IL 95 miles (West along I-80 corridor area) from Chicago. Was full time Repair Tech/Tech Supervisor at US Pioneer Electronics, part time college student, business major, 9 units (or more) 3 to 4 nights a week, Pasadena City College, El Camino College, Torrance, for 5 years, at Pioneer, 16 years as Technical Service Manager, Hitachi Sales Corp of America, fixing problem units then teaching & training techs, tech writng, pioneering sales of Hitachi VCRs, Video cameras, computer monitors,& CD-ROM drives, until market changed '94.
Worked as Tech Support for AT&T Worldnet, Arri 35mm/16mm film cameras, for Mitsubishi as a temp 97-99, with imaging printers for medical, etc. Thermal Dye Sublimation. Drive a Dodge 2008 Charger w/ Custom Billette grille,.
Like music, blues, jazz, soul, country, new rock, new age, artists like David Arkenstone, David Allan Coe, Pink Floyd, Enigma, have a huge collection of vinyl rock, Frank Zappa fan, & CDs,love to draw, paint canvas impressionist style, illustrations, program computers, retired but seeking part time, new house with more layout/office space, grew bamboo now in pot, like Japanese food, curry, spicey, Louisanna Hot Sauce, Mexican food & style peppers. Went to Japan for training 3 times, 79/81/83 one month each time.,.
Moved here (IL) in '99 and worked at B&B Electronics Mfg Co in Ottawa, IL doing pre/post sales tech support, tech writing, until June 1, nearly 13 years. 66 y/o, time for change.
Like good Mexican food, hot Mexican style peppers Lousiana Hot Sauce, Puerto Rico style Espresso El Bustello/El Pico, Asian things, Tibet Chime, gong, temple bell, Japansese Curry, Korean BBQ, Chinese food, rice, sticky style for chopstcks, kippered herring, anchovies, sardines. Fave Sports team ( I actually will watch) is MN Vikings, part of my heritage, forefather's invaded England about 900AD, mix of Viking/Normandy French.
Am Christian, conservative leaning, read the entire Bible (RSV) '79-'94, & Quran, '96, raised Foursquare, Assy of God, voted for Nixon '68 1st & 2nd time. I felt Cochise County, Ariz. my home, miss the mile high mountains +2-3K, love the milky way, rode Motorcycles, Honda 63-65, Suzuki 250/350/450cc since, taught me endurance, cold, wet, hot, no music except motor & wind. My favorite religious thing aside from NRSV Bible is the statement of faith, Apostile's Creed, & a plain gold cross with chain.
Moved to marry wife Christine in '99. she still loves me. A nice Polish-Italian lady. Her Dad was a Train Master, NYC/Penn Central/Conrail, retired, Died at '92 Dec. 2011. Frank Biagi.
