I got into model railroading back in my teen years.  I then became more interested in the female of the species and trains fell by the wayside.  Now after a fairly long hiatus I'm getting back into the hobby.  It sure has changed.  I'm currently building a small N scale switching layout, DC.  I also have some HO locomotives, cars and track waiting for a space in my shop.  I just purchased a O27 locomotive at a train show.  I think I paid too much for it, but I learned something in the process and I will be on the lookout for more.  O27 locomotives and cars look like they would be fun to work on and restore.  More fun with trains.
