I got my first train set (Atlas n-scale) when I was in the 4th grade. Over the past 40 years I've dabbled in the hobby, focusing mostly on track and running the trains. Never did much scenery.
I find that I now have the time to dive in a bit deeper. I've switched to DCC and have hand laid a switch that actually works pretty well. I'm an electrical engineer by training, and I have always like the technical side of model trains. I hope to also explore the scenery side of things, including both landscape and weathering.
