A US citizen born in Germany. A railfan since I can remember, my first memory is from the backseat of my parent's Renault in Germany driving over a very smoky rail yard. Grew up watching UP, Frisco and Mississippian, and then SCL near our homes.
College saw me prowling BNSF, Columbus & Greenville, Mississippian, Mississippi Export and ICG.
Began volunteering on the Hawaiian Railway Society's former Oahu Railway line, then on the Cadillac & Lake City in Colorado. Rode many a train in South Korea including the last 2-foot line from Inchon to Suwon. Rode the Chehalis & Western and wrote a Railfan & Railroad article on the line.
Volunteered on the SC Railroad Museum for years before working on WATCO industrial operations in SC, Alabama and Louisiana.
Now employed in Dubai for the UAE Air Force and watching intently Dubai's trolley and Metro, as well as the Palm Jumeirah monorail and Etihad Rail.
