My favorite railroader of all time, Jim McClellan. What he has done through his career and what he did for Norfolk Southern is priceless. Would have made a great CEO.
Wick Moorman, one of the classiest men and first class gentlemen
alive. What he did in a public relations sense for not only NS but the railroad industry as a whole is insurmountable.
Robert Krebs, former CEO of BNSF, never met him but undoubtedly one of the best CEO's of the railroad industry.
My favorite railroad author, Rush Loving Jr. One of his best quotes " Americas economic strength is faltering and our hope of bolstering it hangs with better thought out economic and trade policies in Washington. If that happens, the railroads will be there to play a crucial role, because so long as their directors name CEO's who know railroading and love it, the railroads will provide the glue ensuring America remains the world paramount power.
I worked for NYLE RR and Norffolk Southern in my career
The ex PRR, Conrail and NS Pittsburgh line from Conway to Harrisburg is an amazing piece of railroad, some of the best crews in railroading have run and still run those train.
