RLP is an old geezer who hasn't touched a model train since the 1950's. So I'm near the bottom of the learning curve here in 2020. I want to start learning with a very small simple switching yard so I can test turnout sizes, DCC power and communication wiring, and mobile decoder programming with Digitrax DCC and JMRI. Once I've got the basics mastered, I want to build a very modest temporary layout and test different layout features such as Y's, reversing loops and crossings to make sure I've got the DCC wiring conventions well understood.
