RLP is an old geezer who hasn't touched a model train since the 1950's.  So I'm near the bottom of the learning curve here in 2020.  I want to start learning with a very small simple switching yard so I can test turnout sizes, DCC power and communication wiring, and mobile decoder programming with Digitrax DCC and JMRI.  Once I've got the basics mastered, I want to build a very modest temporary layout and test different layout features such as Y's, reversing loops and crossings to make sure I've got the DCC wiring conventions well understood.  Then, well will see....
