About Locomods
About LocoMods What I Do..... My primary business is in the repair, modification and sales of electric trains. As a retired electrical engineer with some additional time as a technician and as an electrical technology instructor, I have a great deal of experience and find tremendous enjoyment in repairing and modifying electric trains due to their electro - mechanical nature. I have met many great people on eBay and in the model railroad community, and also do a direct business out of my shop in Atchison, Kansas. Lately I have intentionally slowed down on the business side and am concentrating on my layout. I intend to have it "finished" before I am too darned old to enjoy it. Most of my locomotive conversions this year have been for myself. Contact me at 913-367-1206. I work out of my home in Atchison, near the Kansas City area. Or email me at Locomods@cs.com. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How I got started..... I just got too old to fly radio controlled airplanes and revived my other strong interest: railroading. I sold most of my well preserved new and used RC dealer stock and "rolled" (pun intended) the $ into trains and am about half finished on my layout which has more than 700 feet of track. I collect Lionel from all eras, and my older locomotives all operate well, but I primarily operate MTH PS2.0 and Lionel TMCC on my layout. Once in a while I will place an 80 or so years old set on the track and take it for a spin. My electrical engineering and steam power plant background helped steer my direction. I sell directly out of my shop as well as on eBay so feel free to contact me with any special needs. I especially enjoy doing modifications and upgrades such as the MTH dcs PS2.0 upgrades to MTH, Lionel, Williams, Weaver, K-Line and other locomotives. No job is too small, so if you just want a custom headlight or horn installed, I can do that too. Please feel free to give me a call or send me an email with your question or need. I thoroughly enjoy sharing this wonderful family hobby and helping others find the pleasure that I do. Bill
