I have been an avid modeler since I was a kid. building mainly military models and figures. After buying a home I pulled out my old HO trains from when I was a kid and realized the old trains weren't going to cut it.
So I purchased some track and an inexpensive Athearn locomotive and thru up a 4x8 table in the basement to play and test my interest. I played for a while and purchased a couple more inexpensive engines and cars. I new I was hooked when I could not find the type of switcher I wanted with the road name I wanted. So I bought a switcher and stripped and painted and decaled it. I could then run it around the track which was a bonus to the static military models I have build in the past.
So I have committed to a small free lanced Western Maryland themed railroad. I have been working on it for a couple of years now, but I am in no rush to finish.
