Started playing with trains when I was 3, older brothers American Flyer set. My dad gave me a Marx set when I was 6, HO when I was11, started Lionel in high school, left for 15 years. When my son Casey was 1 he got a handmade wooden train that he could sit on, then Grammy got him a LGB set and we both took over the carpet layout scene upstairs for a few years. Went to a local train store and found Lionel and 027 track, bought a UP Alco AA unit and passenger cars that they just introduced in the early 1990"s, and away we went, full tilt into the hobby again.
I play with trains for enjoyment and relaxation. I enjoy the challenges of creating layouts, planning and incorporating fun scenarios. Electrical wiring and making accessories come to life is rewarding. I run a big layout to just watch trains run (up to 5 at a time) for relaxation and when I want on hands involvement I have a connecting layout that is chock full of operating accessories. I like to run conventional, Legacy, Lionchief, Lionchief blue tooth, & DCS.
