I am a retired soldier of 25 years. My father built Japanese kits after his unit was transferred from Korea to Japan during the Korean War (24th ID). Anyway, I grew up with these trains from my earliest memories. I got a unpainted Varney F-7 to start my own collection and than a Hi-Fi F-7. I retired eighteen years ago. Got back into trains about ten years ago. My Dad and I buy, restore, and then resell HO scale stuff. Anyway, my Dad and I sold most everything off this year at an auction because of his health. Something about 1,000 cars and about 300 engines of just about anything you can imagine. Then too, my wife and I bought a new house a few years ago and sold our old one that had my layout in the basement. The guy who bought our old house made the mistake of bringing his young kids and they went nuts when they saw the train and HO race car layout. Thankfully, he bought it and a ton of my other trains since a landscaped layout just doesn't travel very well. Much less fit thru any door!!!!!!!!!! I just have a 4x8 now but my grand kids still only know one speed-FULL TILT, when they play with me.
Anyway, I am just a big kid who likes to make old toys run again.
Thanks for looking.
