An old GN locomotive heading out down the grade with it's caboose to help the second section of the Fast Mail "Up the Bump". During the season the express cars were fitted with special racks that allowed Salmon to be shipped to Eastern markets. These shipments usually accompanied the fastest trains on the schedule and dispatchers would clear their way across the division.
