The town of Oberwald Postal Depot is still serviced by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Mail was collected in these railside depots and distributed to local towns and villages by truck. In this case the depot has a new mail sorting room for the town of Oberwald. Looks like the postees will be busy for a while judging by the number of mail bags that have just arrived.
The building is part of a complex attached to an older postal building. It was scratch built and the mail sorting room left open on the street side to display the inner workings. Including the letters in their individual cubby holes and packages on the table. PREISER figures and VOLLMER post office accessories were used.
