I hope you are not including Hanoy Jane.

Yeah Vic, very supprized to see that! Now all he has to do is add T. Rose which is now American civi!?
Jack, hope they finally figure out your paperwork, the oxymoron "military intelligence" at work again... but then you couldnt have any more fun yelling down new reckies now could you
Have fun with your trains
Hi TJ
Hope the paper chase goes well.
Regards John

GOOD to hear from you ,I hope every thing is going well for you , i haven't had to much time to run trains , the wife was in the hospital had 4 blockages in the heart ,she is doing well now . i hope your retirement comes through for you ,so you can get home to your family . take care and keep us up to date. Glad you got to see Ian and Frances . BEN
All's quiet on the SWA front. Things are going well and it's nice to "get into the groove" of yelling at privates and leaning hard on buck sergeants once again! My insider at BIG ARMY headquarters (or is it hindquarters?) tells me that my retirement packet did not go through the proper channels when it was denied (due to some arcane and obscure regulation) so it's now going through a review board. There is a chance, however small, that I may yet be allowed to retire and go home. We'll wait and see.
Anyway, the chance dinner with Ian was great! It is very nice to meet face to face with forum members. Ian and Frances are wonderful people and I am very honored to have shared a dinner with them. I didn't send Ian home empty handed. Hope to see the photos soon! Take care.

TJ,
I'll just add a ditto to what everyone else has already said.
You're a soldier and accept your duty to go where your commanders ask you to go, I salute you for that kind of dedication. Please remember this very, very important fact ..... America supports, respects and yes, even loves it's military men and women. Even those citizens who may not agree with the political reasoning for this war still hold our military men and women close to their hearts, perhaps even more than those who see these deployments as supporting a "just and necessary cause".
Take good care of yourself and know that you have my respect and best wishes and that of a grateful nation.
Sorry to hear the news Jack. Our best wishes to you. Ironic when you know that my wife an I arrive in Virginia for a holiday on the Ist June. You had sent contact numbers if we should get down your way.
May you be home soon.
Ian
Come back safe and sound.
We will be thinking of you
Keep your head down!

I HOPE YOUR DEPLOYMENT goes quick for you . when and if you get time e-mail the forum with updates . take care . BEN

I thought about that myself, but they would just end up car bombing each other over coupler pin length or what exactly "G" scale means. Fundamentalist HO scalers? Now that's scary!
Thanks to all you guys, I might not get more time to post for a while after tonight. I'll miss all of you, but I'll be sure to drop by and at least say hello when I get the chance. There is something special about model railroaders, Garden scalers above all. Cpt Bob has gone above and beyond to help me on a personal level, so I give him a very special thank you. I've visited some of the forum members and they have all been very good, kind and generous hosts. Benny, sorry I couldn't stop by again sooner but I'll be sure to make a special trip to see you when I get back. Dave, even though you live in NVA I never made the time to stop in, I'll fix that when I return (and I expect progress on you pike so get busy). Have fun!

Multiple dittos to all of the above replies. The father of my only grandchild also leaves on Friday (from Ft. Lewis, Wa) with his Kiowa chopper unit. A few years ago they told me I was too old and weathered to join. So I give everyone in uniform my endless prayers & gratitude for making our lifestyle possible , including being able to surf this forum. I'll be up early Friday to raise a toast in your direction.
T-JACK,
Sorry to hear the news. I wish you the best. The forum will be a lonely place until you return!
Dave, USMC Ret.
T-Jack, I'll keep you in my prayers, for a safe deployment and a safe return.

TJ I wish a safe trip, and will be standing by for your return.

I heard very recently that our President who has our Men and Women going off to fight and are dieing for peoples Freedom.
Has shut down our troops Freedom to communicate.

I'm so sorry to hear that. You and all of the men and women over there, need to be at home with their families. I hope that you'll be careful and come home safely.
I know that when you're in the military, you follow orders and do what you're told. Be safe and know that we'll all be thinking about you. Check in when you can.
And remember to come home to those that love you. I'll be praying for you.

Stay safe, and say hello to my uncle Sergent First Class Joseph Franz, HHC 1-168th GSAB unit.
