Gp-9, Tidewater, Va where I live is not just a clever name. In order to remove all standing water you would have to drain the Atlantic Ocean down about 15 ft or so. Not to mention the Great Dismal Swamp, another not so cleverly named area.

Our best bet is to rely on the F-16/F-14 fighter wings to clear the really big ones and I carry a 9mm sidearm for the smaller ones that get too close. From time to time we send a SEAL team or an SBU team into the breeding zones to perform sapper work on the nests and gather intel.[:D][:D]

Would you like us to lend you the S.A.S.
Obviously all U.S. troops would have to be out of the way to avoid any accidents![:D]

Roger that, Troy! I've worked a little with the SAS and I sure wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of thier trade.

This battle is humanity against the skeeters, we should all band together for this one!

I was wondering has anyone every built a Bat house? I understand one bat can eat up to 3000 mosquitos in one evening or somthing like that. I thought of building one on the back side of my property.

Matt,

I have thought of that myself, even mentioned it earlier in my post. They seem to be a pretty straight forward build. If you check out this web site http://www.batcon.org/ there is a lot of information from plans to build bat houses to what color to paint them and best locations for them.

We had a mosquito plane in the 2nd war, it was as popular with the Jerries as the blood suckers are with evryone these days. It was in and out before they knew what was happening and they left everything shot to hell. What's a 'mosquito magnet'? Sounds pricey by the talk.
Cheers,
Kim

I looked it up. None of the ads had any prices listed. That tells me you would have to take out a bank loan to buy one. There are several models available. Looks like some of the propane dealers carry them.

They come in different sizes but I think I paid around $250.00 dollars for my 1/4 acre model . Mosquito Magnet is one brand of machine . Someone told me there was a test of these machines done recently and it so happens that the brand "Mosquito Magnet" was the best .
