Replacing carbon pick ups on tender of C16 bumble Bee.

Can anyone advise me on how to replace the carbon contacts that are fitted to Aristo Bumble Bee tender. I have released the bracket that the  brushes are held in but find it difficult to insert the new ones against the inside of the  wheel. Everytime I try the springs force the new brushes out. I have sound and power off the track through these pick ups but I need some sort of temporary insert between the wheels and brush that can be removed after they have been fitted.

Hmm, if you put both brushes in, hold them with your fingers. Then put one end against the inside of one wheel, and then put the other in, keeping the brushes from popping out with your fingers.

If this is too difficult, put a small piece of tape across each end, put in place and remove the tape.

Thanks Greg ........managed to replace them with two pieces of masking tape between brush and back of wheel. All that was lacking was the confidence to do it. I thank you. Alan.
