Big Hauler to 0-6-0
Posted by lownote on Saturday, November 8, 2008 12:11 PM

This is my first kitbash. It's parts of sevaral big haulers, and Annie chassis, and parts of an aristo Pacific

Here's the prototype:

And some shots of the nearly finished loco. I have to add a whistle, and lettering, a few other details. It's nominally in 1:29, but that Aristo tender is way too short and high

The firebox is made of four pieces of balsa carved to shape, and then thin styrene epoxied to and over the balsa. Took a lot of rubberbands!

I have an Aristo mikado in PRR livery, drives me crazy that it doesn't have a belpaire firebox

Have you tryed warming the styrene first, it should make it more plyable.

You would think a company from NJ would get it right.
