I hate this new forum SoapBox

3 tries attempting to post a new topic with images, screwed the color up, and refused to post, always returned to same 'new topic ' window, I may hold off posting new subjects here till the bugs are worked out

There is good advice and a few good informational links here, http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/t/139429.aspx, if you have not already seen it.

 So Sorry

If you quit posting, I won't have anyone to putz with but an old seven toe'd toad.

Must depend on what kind of system and web browser and type of internet connection each person has as to how this new forum format works.  For me, I like it, it loads faster, looks cleaner and sharper, couple of new buttons I've not figured out yet, but seems to be working fine for me.

If you would only wait it out until the next time the forum software changes we can read about how this current format was all that and a bag of chips.  Remember when we were first asked "paper or plastic" at the grocery store and we all picked paper, until we no longer had a choice and now everybody is happy happy with plastic?  I personaly have seen no real difference in the new forum as far as the way it works.  Sure, there was a  glitch or two on initial start up, but is that so much a problem?

I'll learn to content myself with whatever forum format our host uses as we really don't have any choice in the matter.  It's not as though we are paying for its use after all.

TJ summed it up exactly right.

I'll continue to reply to messages, but unless the posting aspects get smoother...I'm not going to push the rock uphill just to post something.

Like the last time the forum changed, it takes a long while for all the "improvments" to actually work right.

Screw it,

I'm just gonna post and if the fabulus new software condenses my entire post into one long blerb with photos that splayed out across the screen because it removed all spacers and paragragh indentations when I uploaded it, so be it, its not my forum or my problem, they can fix it.

A bit more long suffering on everyone's part probably would not hurt.

WHERE did you get the bleeding hearts? Cool.

Um, I thought the definition of 'seamless software' was that it'd work with ALL configurations.

Now, you guys with that Asian software/hdwe like Foxfire, Macintosh (alias Apple) Freebies R Us, I find it tough to be sympathetic. (I'll give a pass to Linux, which my son the IT?\AT whatever) touts. I paid to put him thru Computer Skool. I let him live at home rent free, food free. Son of mine that he is, he also took that to mean 'Dads beer = food.' Can't fault his logic. Wish MY dad had let me live at home and drink his beer and eat his food and suck up his a/c and heat. Being of the Depression Generation, he had a sorta 'survival of the fittest' attitude. I don't fault him a'tall. Made me a better man.

It takes way to long between post and every thing eles to download,by the time you do read a post and click back and then click the next post it takes almost 2-3 minutes. It taks much to long to see all the post you want to see.I also liked it better when all the forum were on one page.

 Thanks,David

I'm still here Toad, just not posting as much as the traffic has been down a bit, and I'm still working out the quirks of this new format.

One thing I found is that if I have a post with mutiple pictures, have to compose my message OFF site usually on Word, copy then paste it here as the new format does some really maddeningly stupid things when you try to add multiple pictures...so just to keep my sanity I compose new topic posts of site until they fix all the improvements...

Toad, All the Bmann, and Lionel ( G )Track  were given to a long time freind who was just starting out indoors. Don't worry if they don't want it IT WILL BE TAKEN, just because it can be. USE 16D's to nail down the track . Yes it's good to throw.

The new look must be part of the "upgrading" trend. I liked the old format better, it was more, how do you say? Rustic.

I think "pulling up stakes" is a pretty disrespectful thing to say. Rene and the bunch have worked really hard to make this a nice FREE place for us to come and post. If you already subscribe to the Magazine, like you should be to begin with, you get access to everything this site has to offer. You don't have to pay extra for some kinda "premier" membership. You get a magazine to boot. To those who want to leave, I say leave if you want. I'm going to stay and support those who have supported us in the past. They don't even have to have an online forum to start with. It's hardly two weeks old. They are doing a better job of running this new forum you all "hate" so much than any of you probably could, including myself. So everything might not be just how you like it. Does that mean you're going to quit playing in the sandbox because you can't have your way all the time? Sounds like a bunch of three year olds to me. Sorry, that's just how I see it.

It is enough that Jesus died and that he died for me.
