1916 Baldwin 2-8-0 G Scale
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 16, 2007 3:48 PM

Hi
I am desperately searching for a G scale Baldwin 2-8-0 circa 1916 steam engine.
A picture is available at:
http://www.lvrra.org/images/engine19_25p.jpg

I am not interested in color or logos, just a very close replica.
Note the size of the round boiler barrel to the roof of the drivers cabin. Most replicas have big windows looking out over the boiler barrel.

I realize that it might be impossible to find a new one through big name manufactures like lgb and bachman, but I am hoping that someone may have offered one years ago and its now discontinued.
Or, does anyone know what kind of available trains that can be pieced together to make a very close replica?
Examples...
Find a G Scale 2-8-0 chassis and place another body on this chassis.

Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

I saw the thread on this over on the other site and you got a lot of good feedback. You're not going to do any better over here. I'll be waiting for the Aristo one myself even if its 2 or 3 years away.

Thanks

I thought I would also ask over here to try and reach more folks for more feedback.
