Just got done watchin the SOPRANOs.  Great TRAIN SHOP scene but or " LOCO HOMO" got taken out.  Yes BIG BOBBY is gone. they shot him about 8 times landed on the layout and looked like a NYC Hudson crashed right on top of him.  RIP BOBBY.  Pretty good show though.

Tony should have "axed" the gray headed *** long ago.  Now he has to hide.  He'll get him in the end.

Never watched the show and did not know there was a train guy. Was trains pretty prominant on the show? If so I will have to rent some dvds. Yes I will watch a show just for trains. Can anyone recomend which seasons and/or dvd volumes to rent to see the most trains?

Someone said his wife set up the hit on Bobby because he was about to pay $8,000 for the Blue Comet

I saw one at a show back in December for $2500. It looked brand new. I thought it was a repro. I passed on it. But then again, I have a history of passing on good deals! Wink [;)]

trainsandmusic - the toy trains are tied in with the character Bobby Bacala.  If you can see a rebroadcast on HBO of this week's episode you'll see what all the fuss is about.  The only other episode I can remember was either the beginning of last season or the season before (the episode where Uncle Jr shoots Tony).  There is a garage scene where Bobby is playing with his new layout.

I've been hooked on the Sopranos since season 1, episode 1.  Last nights episode was clearly the best episode in the past two seasons.  Last nights episode reminded me more of the earlier seasons.  I can only imagine that next weeks episode will also be an action packed, suspense to the end show.

As soon as Bobby walked into that train shop I knew what was going to happen.

otftch - I can...the "BING".

I thought it was cool how they were using the layout to lead up to the massacre.  Anyone catch the little O-scale figure with it's hand over it's mouth Shock [:O]?

I watched Sopranos for first time last week. I thought it was a choir group or something but found out they are mafia. Didn't see any toy trains but missed seeing it this week. The people in the show seem somewhat dysfunctional

Notice that Tony Soprano was the only one going to talk over his problems with a psychiatrist. They all needed mental and emotional help in their own special ways.

Who gets the Bobby Soprano layout now that the show is done filming? Does it go back to the layout builders?

Well, I called my dad who taped the episode. I will see it next month when I am home on leave. Heard the scene over the phone and the banter of the blue commet. While limited in Lionel knowledge he discribes a Santa Fe F3 set and Hudson loco. If this is true I am a little scared. That is what I am currently running, and I am Italian. I hope I have no enimies.

It was a Santa Fe FT not and F3. The FT was pulling the El Capitan set. The other loco was a UP Berkshire.

Watched it again on Comcast on demand last night.  Still a great train scene, although I don't think the BLUE COMET is mint after BOBBY B got shot, went down with him.

lol

I checked the Trainworld/Trainland web site as the Trainworld store in Brooklyn which I have been to is under the "el" portion of the F line (Ditmas stop). There are no O guage layouts in the Brooklyn store (At least not in January when I was there - did have a G guage layout). The site they used must have been the Trainland store in Lynbrook.

The Trainworld web site has this:

"BOBBY BACCALA BOUGHT IT IN TRAIN LAND "

This is great.

Hello All!     Frank53 will be glad that no Tubular Track or Postwar Trains were harmed in the making of this particular Sopranos EpisodeWink [;)]Clown [:o)] On a serious note. I do not care for the violence & feel that it does not belong in our Hobby at all & we do not need a Mob Show to promote Toy Trains to the General Public as well. If Lionel Could find another Spokesman Like Johnny Cash or Joe Dimaggio then, that would be the better way to go. I guess I'm too old fashioned for the type of shows on TV that are mostly junk anyway which is why I hardly ever watch the Blue Tube. The only reason I saw the video on Youtube was to see what the Hub bub was about & feel that there is nothing special about the Sopranos Show at all. Just my My 2 cents [2c] worth. Take Care.

Hermann Goering was a big (in more ways than one) O-gauge toy-train lover.

If the hobby can survive that, it can survive the Sopranos;-)

BTW, I just read on another forum that Kenny Bianco has the "Blue Comet" filmed in that episode.. Something about the boxes being autographed. For those of you with extra disposable income.. Hey, you never knowDinner [dinner]
