For some reason my post is being edited when I click the post button, but when I look
at the preview button my pic shows up.

I dont know why I keep getting the
<img src=" when i typed [img]

The syntax for posting pictures is:
"img" Your http link here "/img"
(replace the quote marks before and after "img" and "/img" with [ and ])

So in your case it would have been:
"img"http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/c-burke9/model%20trains/lionel/IMG_0140.jpg"/img"
(You had some extra stuff before and after the http link that I removed)
