Okay, here is my wish list...

Scale Blue Comet set with either Legacy, TMCC, or (PS2 but no tether)
O gauge live steam if someone makes a US version
Scale Hudson with either Legacy, TMCC, or (PS2 but no tether)

nice choice - this one is testing my postwar loyalties:

if I did modern trains, that would most definately be on my list.

Yes...I wish for the Canadian Pacific passenger set....maybe a postwar reissue next year, 2007, for the 50 th anniversary or a brand new version with the scale F3 and 18' aluminiun car.

Also that new big boy is sure to look awesone....

Additions,

Lionel MPC 8551 Pennsy EP-5, LTI Santa Fe Blue F3 A-A, Lionel 746 Norfolk and Western J (Long Stripe), and of course, the 773 Hudson. Oh, do not forget the MPC Lionel Blue Comet Set, MPC Chessie Steam Special Set, and the MPC Southern Cresent Set.

The way I look at it, you have to have food, health, clothing  and a roof over your head. Everything else is a plus.

As for what I would like to have- an original 5344 scale Hudson and the scale cars that go with it. That is if I can ever afford it.

Not anymore!

I purchased my Ruby live steam kit (gauge M or 7/8" scale or 1:12; track Gauge 1 or 45 mm; about the size of plastic Army figures). I will have to modify the cab and stack, however so a 6" tall (scale) engineer can fit inside!

Also, awaiting impatiently for my Lionel 0-6-0. Been over a week and getting ants in the pants, if ya know what i mean

New N&W J with TMCC and 5.0 and the new Big Boy with TMCC and 5.0  Doubt I will as they cost so much.  Can buy a lot of NS diesels with TMCC and 5.0 with that bunch of $$$$.

I agree with you on the 269e freight set.  I have yet to make the jump to the "fasttrack" or any TMCC technologies.  I just run wire to simple lockons attached to good old 3-rail "O" gauge track.  If you don't mind me asking, what's your opinion on the fastrack product.  I'm tempted to switch, but I've got a fair amount invested in my existing track.  Thanks......Roger (train forum ID:  envfocus).

Roger, I can't tell you anything about Fastrack as I don't own any. My track is all traditional tubular O and Standard gauge. At this point, I have no plans to purchase any Fastrack either, as I tend to be a bit of a purist when it comes to three-rail trains -- I am not much of a high-railer.

I am thrilled to see that there is quite a bit of interest expressed in prewar trains in this thread! Certainly more than I expected to see. Hopefully the manufacturers are listening! Approve [^]

Cool,

I'm not a big Pre-war Fan, but, I have always liked the 226E and the 1668 2-6-2.

I'd like to modify the 1668 into a proper 4-6-2 and re-paint it in brunswick Pennsy green and thin gold stripes like the Real Torpeado. Of course, I could take the easy way out with an MTH Railking Torpeado, but, hmm, I don't know.

I enjoy the prewar trains and of those I would love to have a Lionel 256 locomotive.  I'm not sure I could run this two motor powerhouse on my little layout, but I sure would enjoy trying!

Just about anything prewar; Standard gauge, O gauge - it doesn't matter. Right now I have my eye on this:

Not the most spectacular set in the world, but it's a genuine Lionel. Smile [:)]

Hmm,

A Lionel 1954 Texas Special F3 A-B would be nice. A Lionel Postwar 736 Berk, Postwar 681, Lionel LTI Wabash "Fallen Flags" Set.

Here is a showcker. I have always been fond of the 2035 2-6-4, one of the most common Lionel Postwar Engines. I'd like one of them. Some 6464 Boxcars (1990's and 2000's Reproductions, some Originals would be nice), a 3662 Milk Car, 1949 Green 0-27 Streamliners Maplewood, Hillside, and Livingston, Union Pacific 2-8-4 FARR Set, Southern 2-8-2 FARR set, and a 2348 MS&TL GP-9.

For Prewar a 226E 2-6-4 Steamer and a 1668 Torpedo 2-6-2. Oh, a Baby Blue Comet Set would look really nice on the mantlepiece.

There is alot more, but thats all I can tink of right now.

Yes, There are some trains I have to have.

Soo Line ACF Center Flow 3-Bay Covered Hopper Unit Train from Lionel or MTH Premier.to go with the Soo Line SD40-2 and Caboose from Lionel or MTH Premier. The markings have to be the 1973-1974 graphics.

Canadian National EXPO '86 VANCOUVER SD40W-2 and the matching 10 EXPO '86 VANCOUVER 50' Boxcars. That is an impressive train that was made in HO Scale. An O Scale version would be even better.

If and when Lionel makes an orange stripe American Flyer coach to match the other orange stripe cars they made in the mid 1990's it'd be something I'd have to have.

Other than that, it's whatever excites me in the train catalogs.

Hoge strealine set, Hafner Century of Progress set, Katz five fifteen.

Dying to get my paws on a live steam. Might even get one in G-scale and add a G-loop. Nothing like real steam they say, better than drugs.
