I was hopeing to get some new ideas on how to make trees for my layout. I have used some of the store bought trees and was not very impressed with them. plus you will go broke trying to cover a large area with them. Any ideas would be great thank you[:)]

csmnlm,
Do a search on this forum, they have had several threads, I believe the most recent used furnace filters and they came out very well.

yup, yup; this time of year you will find weeds but get poison ivy, ticks, no-see-ums, etc. Fall is a bit better and cooler. You need a good constitution and a willing to hike about a bit to get the right weed. They are there, awaiting your discovering. Seek them out and you will find them.

I like to let Ma Nature provide the trunks, and I provide the foliage, in the form of Woodland Scenics (or other) foam, although I also do buy a lot of commercially made tree kits. I'm not too big on ready-made trees because most look like. . . well, ready-made trees.
