Bob, I wasn't implying conspiracy. My comment was based on the fact that I'd love to purchase a Williams 2056 AND a 726, but have heard that the smoke output was lousy in both (same type unit). When I saw the Williams hudson on the cover of this CTT issue, I immediately thought, "What does CTT have to say about the smoke unit"?

When CTT did their online video of Williams UP anniversary set, no bell or horn was heard. I immediately went to a Williams catalog to see if those sound effects were included in that set of locos.

You and the crew did a fine job on the May issue. I look forward to the next one already.

P.S. Please tell that guy with the New England layout, Peter Miville that I live in Massachusetts and would like to stop by and see his trains. I know he's a neighbor to my north.

Finally got my issue today. Looks like I won't have to worry about that swim across the lake now, hehe.

Chris, I was born and raised and lived a good part of my earlier years in Milwaukee, WI and my paternal grand parents lived in Holland and operated a little restaurant on the bay in Holland.

I received mine sometime between last Friday and Monday afternoon. I was out of town so I do not know when it arrived.

Got mine Saturday. Walked the dog that day, too. Looked over the table of contents Sunday AM before heading out to Costco. Checked out the online video extra feature between coffee breaks at work today. Sure wish you could run those video loops in reverse. Maybe will read the letters to the editor tomorrow before work. Got to shine shoes.

Haven't gotten mine yet. We left coasters usually receive ours four to ten days later than you subscribers in the heartland. Then you have to consider the rural Northern California factor. Hell' we don't even have 'next-day' mail service up here from Uncle Sam or the package delivery services. 'Second day' is as good as it gets and even then it is no sure thing. Haven't even received my 'Inside Track' from the LRRC and just yesterday the mailman didn't bother to close the maibox after delivering the mail and everything got soaked in the rain that lasted all day long. Effin - A double clutch.

Got to say Bob in your intro on the review of the RMT Budd Car, you may have been surprised, but I certainly am not. K-Line ignored these kinds of decent basic items that they started with when they went scale, save for their ill-advised "Husky Line."

The trend recently seems to be more and more towards more expensive and more scale types of products. And while these products certainly have a market and a following, one might believe that market/following is actually bigger than it is based on the sheer numbers of these product introductions.

On the other hand, while there is really nothing "new" about the Beep or the Buddy, these kinds of decent, affordable, non-scale products also have a market - although it may not be as vocal.

As your review pointed out, it didn't take much along the lines of tooling investment to make some noticable improvements in the Buddy. Too bad K-Line lacked the insight and the courage (bluggh... the dreaded curse of 027 product: a toy, not a scale replica) to make such changes and to continue making the very products that put them on the map in the first place.

Thanks to Walter for picking up where K-Line dropped the ball. And thanks to CTT for also reviewing this kind of product. Again, no surprise to me... this kind of product has been ignored in recent years.
