What have you ordered recently?
Posted by mickey4479 on Sunday, March 12, 2006 6:00 PM
I ordered an MTH PRR N6b wood side caboose last fall and still waiting for delivery April or May, and reserved an MTH PRR RPO passenger car this week for delivery in May, I hope. I am just about maxed out for me except for a Lionel scale decapod. How about you?

Laz - Cab forward, my favorite thing in the Lionel catalog. Not in my budget. But I did win a MTH Virginian EF4 Rectifier this weekend on e-bay. Looking forward to getting that. Always wanted one. Would have liked it in the New Haven colors but the Virginian in black and yellow is pretty cool too.

From MTH:

I ordered the CP Rail SD-90MAC Diesel engine and dummy, as well as the EMD Demonstrator SD70ACe engine and dummy. Same for the Norfolk Southern diesel.

All three of those were supposed to arrive sometime next month, but now got bumped up to August/September.

So in the meantime, I got the Santa Fe Gunderson twin stack cars on order from AM Hobbies, and those should be arriving in May. At least until my new engines arrive, I will work on getting more freight cars, accessories and track.

I also got those Cerestar and ADM tank cars from Lionel on order from Train Express. Should be arriving around July. So plenty of time for me to get the money together for those items.

Pretty soon I plan to order the Z-4000 and the DCS system. Once I get some of these items in then I can work on getting a train going.

I ordered and received a MTH Pennsylvania N-8 Caboose last week from Graham's Trains. I also have a powered and dummy Weaver CSX GP-38-2 on order. I expect them in a month or two.

Mickey, I hope your MTH RPO order delivery date comes thru on time or earlier. I've had the N&W RPO on order for 2+ years. I beleive it's intially promised delivery date was May 2005. I contacted MTH last Aug. and was told Sept.! The date keeps on moving month to month. Guess it's time to contact MTH again. I have no intention of canceling. Just wished they'd give a honest date.

From MTH 2006 vol1-Narragansett Reefers. I have a wooden Narragansett Banquet Ale case from the same period to store them in.

From Lionel 2006 vol1-The Halloween Docksider, the caboose for it and the chase gondola. I hope they continue this series. I already have the General and caboose from last year. The neighbors kids loved seeing my temporary Halloween layout last year. Now I will have to add a loop for the new train. Fun.

From K-line 2006 vol1 Although there was none I would have ordered the new Superstreets pieces like the Wye switch and wider radiai to complete my layout I already started with it. I also would have ordered a Porter in a short line logging scheme along with a Reefer or two. As far as hypotheticals I would have ordered a two truck Climax from them if it was as great as thier Shay.

K-line was becoming my favorite company and I am sad to see them go.

Bachmann On3 is looking more and more tempting with all the fighting and legal greif. I wi***hey would have bought K-lines holdings. That really would have shaken things up.

Ten pounds of Sculptamold and an Atlas road signal.

Told myself I have to make some progress on the layout before I can start buying stuff again...

James the Red Engine for my kids. Almost ordered a 2 car set of the California Zephyr streamliners to convert to Santa Fe, but decided to wait on those.

I surprised myself and won an MTH Premier 20-3036-1 N&W A cab # 1218 on eBay.
Never thought I could ever afford one of those. It is very heavy, large and runs like a top. Now I have to purchase 072 Gargraves track and Ross switches to run it.

Now, if I had the money, I would have ordered one of the Williams GG1s, and their Santa Fe F3s with all the matching aluminum passenger cars and a B unit.

NOTHING in the last 10 years. If I buy anything anymore, it is second hand, new or slightly used, or dealer mark down.

I just got the new Lionel catalog, and while there are a few items I'd like, none of them are worth ordering in advance.

Well, I recently got the Williams GG1 deal with a Timkin boxcar. I have made several purchases off the dreaded auctions. I got good deals, but the wife rolls her eyes as the UPS man brings yet another package. In those purchases, I have gotten several great books (all train related), several older Lionel boxcars, and some building materials.
If she doesn't kill me, my next purchase will be a Erie F3 set.

I have till Wednesday to preorder from Lionel. I guess I just have to decide from where to get the best price. I am amazed at how different prices can be, especially if you have to pay taxes or not.

Lionel Canadian Pacific Freight Set....seem a very good deal and I need to move to a bigger than 36' radius also. And heck I have to support Lionel on each Canadian product they make since they seem to be very few.

And still waiting for the reissue of the CP passenger set...maybe next year.

SD40T2 power and dummy in D&RGW, and what a deal they look to be for 300 bucks for both!! Only problem is that they are on preorder which means I'll have to buy something else to tide me over! Real clever system these manufacturers have[;)]

The PS2 release of the MTH RailKing PRR "Torpedo" streamlined K-4 pacific, with matching cars in the "Fleet of Modernism" paint scheme. Also, the MTH Premier PRR FM C-Liners and a Williams 2056 Hudson.

Good thing these won't all arrive at once. It gives me more time to sell things to help pay for them.
