If your 1033 has no other load on it, it should not have a problem running your new engine. The 1033 has enough power to run a postwar steamer with a whistle tender, and your new MTH engine, even with its electronics, shouldn't draw any more power than that. Of course you will only be able to run it in conventional mode, but I ran my MTH engines that way for a long time before I got DCS, and I was satisfied with their operation.

If it's any comfort to you, I run TMCC-equipped engines with a 1033 all the time and they work fine too.

I also should have mentioned that it would be an excellent idea to put a fuse holder with a fast-blow fuse between your 1033 and the track, in case of a short, the 1033's circuit breaker won't kick fast enough to protect the engine's electronics. For larger transformers about a 10-amp fuse is recommended, but I doubt the 1033 could blow it. You might want to try 4 or 5 amps.

Also the 1033 does not have a bell button. But it will run the engine fine. Be sure to prime the smoke unit with 30 to 40 drops of smoke fluid.

Just remember to read the conventional operation instructions. MTH locos require you to momentarily "pause" each time you cycle the power to operate forward, neutral, reverse sequence. It takes some getting used to.

You may wi***o add a whistle/bell button if you want to do any conventional programming of MTH sound features.
