I'm going to get the plants and trees perfect and then do a much larger loop of about 300 feet that will include grades, bridges over pond and real waterfalls and much more.

The handlaying slows the whole process but DIYers think it's worth it.

Nice work David, specially the Live Steam is very interesting..[;)]

David--

Thanks for the pics, excellent as always. About how many feet do you think you will have on your outside layout? Everything looks terrific!

Layed track outside but so cold didn't get all of the tracks connected to the warehouse tracks.

So I went inside and worked on some other tracks

The next day I visited Union Station in DC and took these images of real trains and G scale train running inside station

Jim, I use plastic prefab trees, made by Busch (no kidding). It's basicly a 2D tree where the branches can be bend in all different directions. Then simply spray it with glue and add foilage. By using foilage and woodland turf the trees look more realistic.
It's a real cheap solution, costs are below $7 for 10 trees.

Jerry-

Great footage of your turbine, that looks like a layout I can relate too[;)]. Could you tell me how you hosted a video clip. Is it the same as posting a picture on the internet, thanks.

Hey, Buckeye,

I'll have to post some of my outside toy train stuff next week. I've got a stretch of track laid and there was icicles hanging down from the warehouse.

Hey guys; look what I got. The buy of the century!!!

A 4-4-0 ALL METAL from Rite-Aid Drug Store in Crystal City, Va.

50% off

O scale

$7 vice $14

If Rite Aid can sell these metal wonders so cheaply, why can't toy trains be less expensive???????????

I was going to use this as one of those rotating gag gift things but I might end up losing it in that stupid game so I'm hanging on to it.

It's going outside in the garden on the end of an abandoned spur

Jerry,
Get those videos up on the net ASAP!

I built my tunnel based on yours. Only difference being mine has 2 homemade portals on it, made from foam board.

Daan,

Frank53,
Your layout is taking shape quickly. I enjoyed seeing your Scout on it on another forum (MTJ). I have one from 1952 - a 2034. It's loud, but runs nice for an old cheapie. I deleted the majority of my posts over there because they went unanswered. That's why I only have 3.

That's nice, Marty, It's not often that women are interested in toytrains that much that they want to get a layout of their own.

I'm at the point where I have nothing new to add. I think I may keep the domain name but for now It will be gone except for the message that is there. I may re introduce it as a picture only minus all the other stuff.

GIZ,
GREAT PHOTOs.
BUCKEYE,
That is an outstanding IDEAr about sending MAJ. JOE a pic of a toy train.
We got to either make a tread and send him the whole thing if we can do that it would be great.
Whats the best way to get him the pics? Through here or on our own?

Since buseiness is booming on the Salt River Canyon railroad, I'm building a small city to get all the people a house.

Photo is taken without flashlight, it's a bit yellowish..

The city street of Kenn-city in raw shape.

This was first a small hill, now it's becoming a city.

On the other side, the hill disappeared as well.

A small forrest has been made in ordr to give the citisins of kenn-city a way of relaxing. The small shovel is leveling the ground to make place for some cattle and a small station.

The small shovel at work. (no john deere..)

And the new MTH steamer, which steams through the forrest...

... back to the city to deliver the passengers back home after a sunday's outing in nature.

Good to see so many pics today from regulars and newbies alike.

Buck, Do yo have a rotary plow for the front of the train, maybe a NS, looks like you may need it.

Here's the newest member of the family. A Railking Cab Forward. It runs really nice, but the Proto 1 sound sounds a little strange. I plan on converting it to TMCC and Railsounds soon.

Hope you enjoy....Tim

These pics are from last sundays Great Train Extravaganza show in Albany NY, hosted by my club UTA. Nice turnout this year and our newly purhased lionel cab forward was a hit, except it was pulling NYC passenger cars though[;)][:D][:)].
