Thanks Jim, that photo is almost 13 years old. It's been a long yoyo ride. By the way, Buck's remark about people in "Roseyville" was a good natured poke at the Chief. You can't tell the players without a scorecard.

Speaking of the Chief, I'm thrilled that he is coming to town, and we are finally going to get to meet face to face Saturday evening. Should be a fun time, we'll tell you all about it, probably in the Coffee Pot.

Sure looked that way to me, Elliot. The forum was kinda slow yesterday so I tried to get people writing. I'm relatively new and thought it might be an interesting discussion, and the very first sentence in my opening post says "Has this been covered already?". Had I known it was, I wouldn't have started the thread. But over 35 people have responded, so discussing it again can't be that annoying.

Congratulations on your weight loss! It ain't easy.

Jim, Buck's not really complaining. He just picked up a copy of his post from the old topic. Bob and I were too lazy to do that, so you'll have to click on the link to read ours.[swg]

This is a fun "get to know you" topic which , if you look at the dates in the link, hasn't been done in a while.

By the way, I'm almost back to the weight I was in that photo, and I still have those overalls and shirt in my closet.[:0][:p][:I][:D]

Great question!! [:D]

Here's the real story about the my forum name Buckeye Riveter and my signiture as you see it here on the forum. [;)]

As many of you know I live in Central Ohio, the Buckeye State, near a crossroads that is named Roger's Corners. A small creek runs through Roger's Corners at an elevation of 936 feet.

I am a graduate of Purdue University in Civil Engineering and for the last 30 years have been part of the design or construction of many major projects. I actually had a class where I was taught how to design riveted connections. I am a Hoosier by birth, a Boilermaker by the grace of God. In the old days, one of the nicknames for the Purdue sports teams was Riveters. Therefore, combining the Buckeye and the Riveter nicknames became my forum name.

The photo that you see with the signature was taken in 1955 with my first electric train, a Marx. I love the photo because it reflects the joy of a young boy with his trains. A joy that has lasted over 45 years. [8D] (The photo makes it very easy to spot one of my replys on a posting.)

People from Roseyville, NC call me a pain in the A@$. [:0]

No one forced you or any one else to reply, Buckeye. [:0]

Gary Seven is my user name or handle that I have used on computers for many years. It is the name of a character in the 1960's version of Star Trek. You can read about the character and that cat at this link:

Well its the name I was given and I have yet to sign up on a website where it was taken. One uncle had it as a first name. Its a rare first name but more common as a last name in the U.K.
P.S.: Big Boy, one of these thursday nights my boss will be off and we will have a slow period when your in. And I can actually visit for 10 minutes.

The dk are my initials, the 99358 comes from one of my deer rifles, a Savage model 99 chambered for the 358 Winchester.

Ah....It's my name.[:)]

Guess it's suppose to have come from a relative in a Suffork town (no longer in exisistance) in England called Powelltor Born 1599, Died in Isle of Wright, Va. late 1600's.

Actually, when I found this site, I didn't think about using my regular RR handle (Threerails). I just registered my real name. The Threerails name is obvious. Lionel track and the maybe not so obvious 3rd rail of a rapid transit subway (One of my most favorite things!)

The 1688 Pennsy Topredo is my all time favorite engine that Lionel made.and it is also the First Train set my father bought as a teenager in 1939. As a result, since my Father is deceased the train brings back good memories of him and I chose 1688torpedo as a screen name.

Mine came from a job I had in southern California where I was involved in building and designing a nitrous oxide system for cars and trucks. Someone called me Nitroboy once and it stuck.

Jon from Adel, IA, not very original and I've seriously considered changing it because all of you have much better screen names, but then my count would go to zero[:(] We've been here for 29 years, still can't believe it. Only about 16 miles from where I grew up and there's really nothing unique about Adel except it was a wonderful place to raise a family and we are comfortable.

I'm the morning discJOCKey at KOOL 105 in the Plattsburgh, NY/Burlington, VT market.

My wife came up with it because while I was working in Connecticut at a Top 40 station, they kept calling me "Super Jock". So when I went to KOOL 105...

My first name is Craig, middle name is Norwood.

As a teen my older brother put the two together and called me Craignor the Barbarian, after the Arnold movie Conan the barbarian, as I was quite big and boisterous.

When I first got on the net, instead of being Craig39 or something boring, I remembered Craignor, and have used it ever since.

I was not a high academic achiever my first 2 years in Engineering at Virginia Tech. In fact I was down right on the verge of failing out. I went into a final exam knowing that I needed at least an 88 on the final to PASS the class. So you can imagine what my grades were like. Anyway, I took the test, thought I failed and was leaving when someone said "is that yours?" It was a small plastic lizard under my chair.

Since no one else claimed it I picked it up and put it in my pocket. The next class we got our tests back and much to my surprise I aced it. I took that plastic lizard to every test I ever took for the rest of my undergraduate, and then later when I went back for my masters. I graduated in 93 on the dean’s list and had a 4.0 for my Masters.

I have also carried it on every airplane flight I have been on since then. Because, as I've said before, "have you ever heard of anyone ever finding a plastic lizard in the wreck of an airline crash?" Nope, didn't think so. Call me superstitious if you want.

Needless to say... I love the song.
It was a number one hit in 1940 by Glenn Miller.
Fats Domino recorded it in 1956. Went to # 2.
Where I live , is called " Blueberryhill ", also.

Trigtrax is short for Trigger Trax Module, an electronic control I used to manufacture for trains... T Rex is short for Trainasaurus Rex, a tee-shirt the wife sells because we're all Dinosaurs in this hobby.[:o)]
