Christmas Layout On Schedule
Posted by nitroboy on Sunday, July 10, 2005 11:35 AM
My Christmas layout is on the last phase of its construction. I have only to touch up some scenery, and re-paint some areas. It will be a floor layout, its only on legs for construction ease. I bought all the buildings, people, and most of the scenery from CVS pharmacy at the end of Christmas last year. All at more than 75% off. Some of it was 90% off. The Dept 56 sled riding hill and skier hill I got at York this last April (not to bad a price)

Any comments will be apreciated.

Great pics, are those Dept 56 buildings? They add a nice touch to a christmas layout. Now all you need is a polar express train and you'll be all set.[:D] Or maybe some postwar trains.[8D]

Sincerely

OH, that is really going to be nice!! I'm going to show my wife this & get a piece of foam & get started. She has a lot of the buildings we could put on it. No sense waiting till Christmass, I'd never get it started, probably. Thanks for sharing! [:)]

The buildings are Lemax. I think they are CVS brand of Dept 56. They are ceramic and lighted.

Yes, the Polar Express is going to be the train of choice for the layout. I am hoping Lionel will donate one(with the add on cars),[:D] I don't have one yet.

Better buy the Polar Express NOW, since the movie will be re-released in Nov. Joe

You would, indeed, be wise to purchase your Polar Express train now--or at least before the end of summer. You can get 'em at a good price now, and that may change in the fall in advance of the DVD release and the holiday season. Do yourself a favor and buy it now, if that's really the set you want to use.
