help me with my N & W J
Posted by overall on Thursday, May 26, 2005 7:33 PM
I have a 1981 model N & W J 611. A wire that goes to the tender from the engine has fallen off. I looked up the exploded drawing on Lionel's website for product number 8100 which is my engine. The wire that fell of was the long wire assembly part # 8002-23. It is soldered on to the e unit somewhere. The drawing does not tell me where. Can someone help?

Thanks in advance

Your loco is similar to my 1980 8002 UP Berkshire. It has a sound of steam/whistle board in the tender which gets power and ground from the engine through 2 wires. The short one is attached to the motor ground lug. The long one is attached to the e-unit power lug along with the wires from the pickup rollers. The chuff switch is in the tender truck. Hope this helps.
