Need Parts for Flyer O Gauge Hudson and Lionel Flying Yankee! Help!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, April 18, 2005 10:03 AM
[:p] Hi, Randy here. New to this whole web forum thing, but have been into trains for the better part of thirty years now. Anyway, I just got a pre-war American Flyer Hudson which is missing its lead and trailing trucks as well as its smoke stack. Does anyone make these parts? Also have a decent Flying Yankee that's complete except the entire motor is gone. Some rotten kid took it out years ago I suppose. Anyone have any prospects where I could find an entire motor, wheels and all for this thing? I usually collect standard gauge, but am getting into tinplate O gauge because I'm running out of room and it's a bit easier on the checkbook too! Thanks to all and God bless!

Hi Randy,

Model Engineering Works (http://geocities.com/modelengineeringworks/ ) is probably your best bet for the Flyer trucks. Nobody has everything but their selection is very good. They're great guys to talk to for advice too.

As far as Lionel motors, I wish I could help you there. Al Cox, maybe?

Hello Randy ! Try Olsen's Toy Train Parts. They keep some prewar motors on hand and this is where I've gotten a couple of 1688 motors from. Just call Olsen's at 1-216-226-0444 and see what they can come up with.Another place to try would be Warren's Model Trains. Can't remember their phone# off hand,But. They do have a website. Give them a try also. Good luck......................Keith
