Lionel GM Demo F3's with Lionel ACL passenger cars???
Posted by FEClionel on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 10:16 PM
Ok guys I have a new set of Lionel GM Demo F3's and I love the vintage look and want a set of passenger cars to run with them. As you can tell from my screen name - I live in Florida. The only classic size Florida passenger cars Lionel has ever made are the ACL 19154 passenger set. My question is how would these cars look with the GM Demos. Any thoughts?

First off - these are "toy" trains. My philosophy is run what you like with whatever you like. That being said.....

While I love the GM demos for the same reasons as you, I would prefer to run them with some solid color aluminum cars, like the Lionel Lines 2500 series cars. To my eye, the purple and sky blue don't mix well. But, that's only my opinion.

Looks good to me! You can always use the Demo's for another train if you should decide to get a set of ACL diesels at a later time.

I think they would look great. I have both sets of the Lionel ACL sets, The silver cars and the purple cars. The silver set would look great with those engines. The original 4 pack and the 2 car add on set would give you a nice looking train.

I do have an extra set of the 4 Lionel silver cars. If you can't find a set down your way and you are interested let me know via email.
