Morning all.

If some one wants to start a new pot for 2024 on the first, go ahead, if not I will. I guess we can try once a year to start a new one. As I stated about a month ago, we don't get the traffic we did when they requested we do a monthly. we had months that were in the high 20's as for page count. I think that is about what we do a year now.

Hope all had a good Christmas, I feel I did. One present is still coming thanks to FedEx. Was suppose to be here yesterday, but they decided to take it from here to Concord, S.C.  Bang Head

Hope all have a good new year

I made a  run to Menards today for a few plumbing supplies.  Whali I was there, I dug through the rolling stock display to see if any would call my name.

I ended up taking home a red and white Soo Line hopper and a Space Force box car.  I figure that the Space Force boxcar will go well with space and military themed part of my collection.

Anybody going to brag, er I mean, rather share what they got for Christmas?

Well, since at this point in our lives Lady Firestorm and I really don't "need" anything we've confined ourselves to stocking stuffer articles.  I've gotten a whole buncha things to munch on, I mean a BIG bunch!  I've got a man's work ahead of me!

Lady F's gotten an assortment of super-heavy-duty-comfy slipper-socks which she DID ask for, plus a supply of sugar-free Russell Stover cocoanut "bombs" and Cape Cod potato chip snack packs.

We'e satisfied!

Merry Christmas, all.  Quiet one here, just my wife, the dog and me.  Did cook up a good roast for dinner, though.  Included  twice baked potatoes, roasted turnips and carrots, and an apple salad.

Anybody going to brag, er I mean, rather share what they got for Christmas?

Lionel, a Collectors Guide and History Volume 5 is about the Lionel archives.  The last section is about the concept sketches that are in the archives - a bunch of pages showing examples of concept sketches.

Very interesting and full of ideas for projects to bring to life.  Today's access to CAD programs and 3d printers make a lot of these concepts easier to scratch build.  Other concepts presented there look to be possible with some creative 'kit bashing'.

Hot Rod magazine is going quarterly next year too.  I'm guessing that this is a sign of the times for the publishing of paper media's adaption to the increasingly online world.

I've been reading the copy of Lionel a Collerctors Guide and History by Tom Mc Comas and James Tuohy that I got at the local train show I attended about a month ago.  Interesting enough read that I went on line and ordered the other 5 books in the series.  Should be here in a week to 10 days.

CTT now quarterly? Sigh

That's what they say.  So let me put it this way.

IF  it's done to the same standards as Kalmbach's "Classic Trains" which is also a quarterly, and IF  it's got 75 to 100 plus pages of solid content it might just work.  I'm not ready to jump ship just yet.

As an aside I picked up a "Classic Toy Trains" off a giveaway table at a train show published in 2000 with 138 pages of content.  OK, a different time but you see what I mean?

I thought before and I still think it was a major mistake not to fold "Garden Railways" into "Classic Toy Trains" as a content-booster but there's no point in flogging that dead horse again.

Hate to say it, but I wonder how long it will still be a surving magazine.

Morning all.

28* high will be 55*

Lets remember those who lost there lives today defending us at Pearl Harbor.

No real plans for today. Tree is up still need to decorate it. :) we do things at a slower pace here lol. Keep busy with things most of the day but at a slower pace. I swear if it was up to me, it would be a lot smaller place. I never dreamed I would be planting flowers in December LOL. I bought two flowers Tuesday that they had marked down to $2 ea. Guess who wanted me to plant them. I'll be surprise if they make it a week.

Guess it's time to take my meds and look for something to eat I guess.

I'm heading to the Rappahannock Model Railroader's show this weekend in Fredericksburg VA.  I went to last years and was VERY impressed!  Nice show!

Shall we just let it run like it use to. Seeing we really don't get a lot of post. we started doing monthly because how many post we got each month. I believe it was close to 150 -175 area. We have the most post this month than we have had in a long time. Shows winter is hear and folks are more apt to be in.

Not much going on here. Getting ready for the train show on the 16th in Fort Mill, S.C. at the Clarion Hotel 3695 Foothills way. 9 to 3 $2 admission.

Hope all have a good Christmas.

Are we O Gaugers getting to be like cops, as in there's never one of us around when we're needed?  Hmm

I guess we are well and truly out of the steam era if people can't figure out which way the tender's supposed to go!   Crying
