Good afternoon!
Halloween is in the process of being boxed up and put away - just need to find a place for our 12' tall witch!! We were out and about as Santa & Mrs. Claus, it was so much fun.
We set up the civil ceremony for my daughter and her soon to be husband. So, Thursday she'll be married and we'll have a nice lunch after. Only so she can start getting her US Navuy benefits and they can look for either on base or off base housing. Ironically, NAS JAX will be their home port for the next 3 1/2 years - where my Princess grew up.
Still moving trains from my house to Mom's, we'll be here for about 4 more years then decide. It will not stop me from building a layout. But my house needs to be sold first and ALL the trains have to come here.
Chuck (Blueberry Hill) is long gone, some years ago. We miss the Chief and Blueberry.......
Still, thankful for all our friends here. My wife got a second chance at life and we celebrate it everyday. We miss Mom and Dad.
Need to find Mom's Pumpkin and Pecan Pie receipes, I need to make 3 of each for T-Day
Will return soonest, I have a busy week with a County Meeting Wednesday and the Wedding Thursday....
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Afternoon!
With Halloween out of the way, I'll probably put my ceramic buildings I bought at Walmart on my train table, along with new additions, a Christmas water tower a set of lamp posts and a sculpture of a dog mailing a letter to Santa Claus.
now to wait on my two 1:43 scale VW beetles from Atlas to put there with my MTH RailKing Greyhound bus!
Wow! 6 pies! You've got your work cut out for you!
Started taking down the summer layout today so I can do the Christmas version. Amazing how easy it can be to know where everything was by the slightly darker areas on that rug that didn't LOOK that dusty!
Same me, different spelling!
Ah yes, Halloween is past but only 25 kids stopped by. We've got candy left over so Lady Firestorm and I have our work cut out for us!
Winston The Attack Basset had fun meeting and greeting all who stopped by and getting petted and gushed over. Bassets LIVE for this stuff!
Anyway, the Halloween decorations came down today, I was tempted to leave the orange lights up for a few more days 'cause they look so cool, but there's no point in putting off the inevitable.
Next big thing is the train show on November 19-20. Looking forward to that one!
We only had 5 kids show up and they all looked about 15 or 16.
Not much going on here.
I live in a rural area where we don't have any trick or treaters. So I had a nice quiet night.
Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny and 40 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Woke up to FifeMax having some type of seizure. He's better now, but he is getting old... woof...
Travelled to Ashland, VA to help my Godmother move from her just sold house to a brand new senior living condo. Stayed with my cousin overnight (Richmond burbs), and we got a lot done. Did make a stop at Tiny Tim's on the way home. Picked up the Lionel #2028160 Jack-o-Lantern flatcar. Love it, but y'all have to wait a year to basque in the glow of it's blinking orbs. Sorry.
anjdevil - Best of luck to the Princess Bride today. Enjoy.
Hi all,
Been crazy nice here on The North Bluff above Marseilles. 73 sunny with a stiff wind knocking off the last of the leaves. So I have been sweeping, raking mulching and burning leaves to keep up before Sat rain.
Drama has backed off some so that helps. We live 1/2 mile from the road down our lane,,,we don't have any trick or treaters. So we went to the daughter's and handed out candy while they went out colecting candy.
I did score a Lionel Pennsylvania extruded aluminum Railway Express Agency 6-9570 baggage car on the Bay for $32.00 to replace that POS Williams that will not stay on the tracks. I may re-tag it as a Lionel Lines 2530 to match up with the other 4 cars I got?
Bout it from here, I need a to down the dust from the leaves.

Hi everyone,
A three pack of Southern Railway cars (Atlas O Industrial Rail) arrived today and I'v been running them (A nice score on eBay)
Nothing much else to report.
I had to turn to a prewar Flyer catalog to find a figure 8 track plan using O31 and a 45 degree crossover. Adding the siding was my idea and as you can see I'll have to cut some track.

Becky, it's been a while since I made one of those O31/45º crossover style figure 8 setups! I love the idea of adding a siding, but I'm not sure I've grown bold enough to cut track yet. Maybe once I have a permenant layout going on. You're also reminding me how badly I need to locate my tinplate O gauge bridge. It's around somewhere...-Ellie
"Unless bought from a known and trusted dealer who can vouch otherwise, assume every train for sale requires servicing before use"
pennytrains I'll have to cut some track.
It's OK, that's why God made hacksaws.
KRM So I have been sweeping, raking mulching and burning leaves to keep up before Sat rain.
I hear you! The "Great Woomph!" has started with the maple in the front yard and the back yard I worked on last weekend doesn't even look like I touched it! I've got a man's work ahead of me this Saturday.
Hey, I'm ready, so's the lawnmower with the mulching blade, the rakes, and my Craftsman leaf blower I call "The Bazooka."

Nah. Dremels are faster, messier and more annoying to the neighbors!

You know, you're right! And in dim lighting the flying sparks are spectacular!
Mornin' guys and gals. Sippin' Folgers (black) and watching YouTube. Stunningly gorgeous weather along the Allegheny front range. Finally got started on building the framework for the new and improved North Pole village.
Got the train room all tidied up for visit with youngest grandson. When he and Middle Princess stopped by, had all the trains running, and all the lad wanted to do was throw FifeMax his rubber bone...
Good Morning
Well, she's married. Technically speaking. Real ceremony comes in March of next year. So now they can apply for base housing. And I can move the house sale along.
Still a bunch of stuff that needs to get moved, Monday our sailor leaves, but I need to get on the Super Bee project afore its get colder and crappier.
Will run over and fix their 55" TV and visit for a bit. Bed early as we hit the Philly Toy Run. And losing another hour of sleep does not make me happy. Afterwards it'll be cheesesteaks in the casino and maybe a little slot action, but not much, lol
73F now and sunny, 78F later and the same for tomorrow. Nice riding weather!!
Still much much more to get over here, I'm thinking maybe Wednesday afternoon, I'll get a van and just bring everything over here. Tuesday after work, we're heading to Harrisburg for the night.
OK that's all for now.
Mornin' guys and gals. Mostly cloudy and mild along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Worked on the North Pole layout yesterday, and will be back it today. Lots of styrofoam to carve. Also, have a tray of new red sedum "trees" awaiting planting in the train room.
Virtual Railfan's newest camera location is in Cumberland, MD. It's default angle is the Western Maryland Station complex (blt 1913), and there on track 3 is our NRHS Chapter caboose, Clinchfield 1072 (blt 1948). Must have been a photo-freight charter today, as 1309 was pulling a string of hoppers, along with WM caboose 1813, west.
Track cut. Went to The Nards today, ZERO train cars. Buildings and track aplenty but no cars. Oh well. Anyhoo, I got the fender washer and wood screws I need to fix my crazy flippity Christmas tree stand so I can figure out where everything will go.

**WARNING**
If you ordered the most recent Menards BLUE BONNET engines, be aware that there is a potential capacitor problem in the Dummy unit. I'm seeing YouTube reviews where they are smoking!
I'll have to look for those reviews. But from what I gather from your comment apparantly Menards has learned nothing from the last go-round.
Do the torture-testing and R&D BEFORE you release the product to the market! Don't expect the customers to do it for you UNLESS you tell them that's what you want. To do otherwise is a one-way ticket to a bad rep that'll take years to overcome.
Flint - They are still in their "beta" phase. The powered A unit apparently runs sweet, and they worked out the acceleration issue. Also, lots of cab-chat included.
Fifedom blowed and mowed today. Looks better than Augusta.
Right, I found the Gizmo Trains reviews on YouTube. Looks like a pretty good deal for the money, although in my opinion they should have a switch on the powered unit for conventional operation.
Evening, a package from Atlas arrived today.
Two 1:43 scale VW Bugs. A black and white one, and a Herbie one!
Not much else here to report train wise....
...and if elected, I promise a Postwar engine in every household!
Sounds like a sweet deal fife... but how can we be sure you're not just gonna saddle us all with a 1061 and call it good enough? -Ellie

Just a quick Check In
Fife - Pencil me in for a 2065 -
Family issues prevented us from going to Harrisburg today. so we'll save the gas money and hotel costs, at very least. Still sucks
With everything going on, nothing happening on the train front - will most likely take this opportunity to rent a van and transport everything here in 1 shot.
Need to also empty the shed and the basement.
The temps here went from 75F yesterday and last night to 55F and staying there, so the chill is on. Rain and 70s on Friday.
I had JUST missed out on the latest Menards engine, just as well. I have the 3rd run of the engine and it's still in the box.
Since a lot of the stuff has moved out of the garage, I may put the train stuff in there, plenty of shelving and better access. I'll have to look again to move a few items around.
OK - back to work, need to try to leave early, still need to feed the cats.
fifedog ...and if elected, I promise a Postwar engine in every household!
Make mine a 773!
How about a 6110? I could comment that it has a "hole in it's head" like some politicians, but I'll refrain from making such references.
