Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny and 51 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. My best train buddy, Tom, arrived here Thursday afternoon. He brought us crabcakes from Pappas for dinner. Excellent. He also brought his new Lionel-TCA Bicentennial SD45-2s to run in the train room. Beauties! SPF, for sure. Travelled to Altoona yesterday, stopped by the RR museum, Juniata shops, Horshoe Curve, Gallitzin, and a local train store. Today, headed to our chapter museum.

Afternoon,
Nothing here to write home about, just might go to Freddy's Steakburgers and Frozen Custard (I call it an upscale Steak N Shake) next Friday with a friend.
Good afternoon!
Beautiful Day her ein Central NJ, windows are all open and the A/C is off - giving my wallet and the air conditioner a break.
Won our playoff games and now on to the Chanpionship Round on Monday.
Meeting last night went well, as our "chief" was a no show again.
Fife - Unfortunately, the Mrs. is hooked on the Scale of N so no cure is coming in the near future -
The wifes's final piece of her On30 set came in from Bradford house, so I tucked it away for now. Yup just another gauge I have to deal with, lol
I'll be heading to Jenni's house after I take care of the firehouse ballroom. General cleaning and trash removal after a small party tonight. I'll need to change the sign out front as the 9/11 motorcycle run is coming through town next week. I'll return here to work on Saturday Morning. Sunday, off to Mountain Top, PA for a N scale layout (see, told ya, Fife, there is no escape...).
So that's all from here - will check back soonest
Sunny and mid 70's here today. Dog and I got a little over a mile and a half walk in today. Stopping at the Post Office to check our P.O. box on the way home, I discovered a large envelope from Charles Ro. Was the 2022 volume 2 Lionel catalog.
Leafed through it and found a new control system. At least this one is an attempt to make something that is supposed to be comparable with all of the last several new control systems.
The items in the catalog are nice, but are priced in a higher range than I am ready to spend. There are several references to the digital volume 2 catalog. I'll have to hit the Lionel web site to see what else is being offered. Functional, but not the same as sitting down with a cup of coffee and leafing through a real catalog.
All for now.
Afternoon all.
No plans for today, going to take it easy as my knees are hurting. To much walking and crawling past few days. Rich, remind your realtor it's easier to come down in price than trying to raise it. 79* going to 84* today. Semi-overcast at present. Slight chance of rain this evening. Not sure what I want to do on the plywood of the layout. I have about 1 1/2 loops done with one siding done, but if I'm going to put carpet down, why continue building as will need to pick it all up? If I go the scenic express route I can do that with the track down, but what about the cracks between the boards, what if I need to walk across it, can I walk on scenic express covering without leaving footprints? I would think not. So looks like if anything I'm going to have to do carpet or just paint it. ( ugg) ( would love some input on this )A train jumped its track here in Greenville. Just came across the news as breaking news. Hope all have a good day.
fifedogFlint - any video of your show to pass on?
There wasn't anyone shooting video I'm aware of, if any surfaces I'll certainly link it.
If any photos were taken that show up on the club's website I'll link those as well.
For what it's worth, here's a video of the 2018 Charlottesville show, the last one didn't look too much different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx8QqQmvN00
We'd like to get someone to shoot "official" show vid's but no luck so far.
smokey1and from here to PA is about 600 miles one way.
Very understandable. Honestly my usual limit for train shows is a two hour drive, maybe two and a half hours tops. Anything further than that is only if I'm working the show in with another purpose, like visits to friends and family.
I'll tell you though, I'm doing pretty well within my two hour limit.
Mornin' guys and gals. Overcast and 77; on the way... Dusting and vacuuming top the list of to-do's. Hamstring easing nicely, so was able to finish yard work, and helped Alexis give FifeMax a bath.
My good buddy, Tom, is coming to visit tomorrow, and after dinner it was off to the train room. He prefers to run modern equipment, so the 19th century comes off, and more modern rolling stock goes on. Need to build more shelves, and this certainly is a motivator.

Flintlock76 fifedog I've been watching some of the YT videos on the show. Same here, both Dakman's and dagryffyn's. That show sure looks impressive, I've got to get back up there one of these days, that or one of the Allentown shows. One of life's imponderables.

I sure would like to also, but don't see it happening with the wife's condition. She's doing okay but just can't do long trips, and from here to PA is about 600 miles one way.

Evening,
nothing much going on here...I did have to order a Gen 1 Secondary Air Injection System Bypass kit for my Tundra, because it was acting up.
Other than that, nothing.
anjdevil - I've been watching some of the YT videos on the show. Haven't spotted you and your bride in the background yet. But I could've blown through a mini-wad easily with what I've seen on the vendor tables. Good luck with your N-scale "situation". Hope the rash clears up soon.
Good Afternoon
Sunday's trip to Edison was good, but not as fruitful as I had hoped. I came away with a used MTH Stationary store and scale Reading Caboose for $20, a Morton Salt hopper NIB by Lionel for $35, 2 bags of trees for $10 and 4 pole lights for $5.
Jenni bought 4 locomotives in the scale of N and a few other things. Next Sunday, I pick up a new to her N scale layout from a friend, possible more N scale stuff and possibly some HO.
Softball yesterday yielded a 14-13 WIN as I went 1-3 last night, the 6th inning I started off with a long single and we scored 5. Bottom of the 7th down by 3, we scored 4 and won.
Still in the 90s until Thursday.
Yeah, I have some of the pre-war tinplate as well....nice stuff, lol
Flintlock76 pennytrains One of us....One of us... Yeah, and it's got me worried too. Me buying tinplate IS kinda freakish. You know, there were TWO 226e's for sale at the show, one 100% correct and one with a substitute 12 wheel tender with a knuckle coupler making it suitable for pulling post-war rolling stock. Both were very reasonably priced and I WAS thinking about it but went with the 259e set. I'm not sorry, there'll be other 226's out there.

Same me, different spelling!
Evenin' guys and gals. Thermometer on the front porch reads 96. A slight breeze is making the sway, as the hummingbirds are fighting over the feeder. The hammie is a bit better today, but still striding with a limp. Sooooo, wifey volunteered to cut the front lawn. This was the first time she's pushed a lawnmower in nearly 25 years. Normally, Fifedom has finely manicured rows, or gentle arcs; today it's more like spirographs. She got it all though, and I'm happy.
Just having a lazy Monday in after working on the weekend.
Not much else to report. I do know the Atlanta Model Train Show and Sale is coming up, but I'm not sure if I'll go to that this year (maybe next year)
The club's train show's come and gone and it was a roaring success! Typically we sell 60 to 70 tables but this time there were 105 reserved! We're stunned! Everyone had a good time too and there was a lot to see.
What did I come home with? Something I never thought I would.

Uh-huh, pre-war tinplate! The set pictured is exactly what I got with the exception being a log car instead of a gondola. The whole package looked so cool I couldn't pass it up and everything on the engine works, even the whistle tender. I had it out in the Chugger Barn this afternoon "Partying like it was 1939!"
A good day all around!
Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny & 81 in the Potomac Highlands. Girls are headed to the Peach Festival. Fifey stuck at home, as I woke up with a wicked hamstring injury. I mean, this bugger runs from my glute to my fute. SPF will probably be my accomplishment for the day.
TheWaysideRailroader Afternoon, put gas in my Tundra today, and boy was it a work out just to squeeze the lever to pump the gas.... Raining here right now and thundering in rural North Georgia. Two train related items I ordered from the North Carolina Transportation Museum came in today via mail!an orange t-shirt for the Original Norfolk Southern railway and a black hoodie with Norfolk and Western J Class 4-8-4 #611 (Southern 4501 is my favorite steamer, but 611 is a close second)

I have that engine in G scale Woops mine is 1405 just relooked. It's a 4-6-2
Evenin' guys and gals. Rain and 71 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Spent the day with youngest princess in and around Hagerstown. She had an intern interview in Boonsboro, then had to get fingerprinted (digital). Punny...
Took a chance and stopped by The Train Room. He's still open with lots of merchandise. Picked up some scenery goodies, and the RAILKING flickering ghosties gondola. Owner handed me the new Lionel catalog, which apparently uses the same printer as CTT...
Topped that off with a mall excursion, and fish and chips from Red Robin. For you Trekkies, Hallmark has an outstanding light up Enterprise tree topper, for $149.99 (I am not a Trekkie, but it's that cool). Headed home in the rain.
Rained last night, cloudy today, still in the 90s.
I have my Road Star - need to get it out this week - 2 wheel therapy is agood thing. I could never understand why people buy bikes with radios - I ride to enjoy my surroundings and away from the "noise".
I'm getting a mental list of things that need to be sold - once I can get up in my train attic - my selling of the house is getting closer and I need to get to moving things. I'll need to get my bed here - I love my mattress - but not until the showings are done.
Greenburgs on Sunday - can't wait!!
KRM Funny but this soon to be 70 year old feels 23 again when I am on it.
It ain't just a bike man, it's a time machine! It does what it's supposed to do!
Kind of like the toy trains we love to play with!
Hi All,
No train news,,,,,,,but I got the 47 year old 1975 Truimph Trident T160 fired up yesterday and she started in only 5 kicks with my lame ankle foot! Today I swapped out the year old gas for new and took it for a 17 mile spin around the countryside. Polish and once over and back to storage till next time. Funny but this soon to be 70 year old feels 23 again when I am on it.
Got around today to post some pictures and a video link of the old bike.
