Good Morning!!
Thanks, everyone!! There were moments I had doubts, but off we go, lol.
Went 0-2 last night and we lost - I played a respectable 3rd base, at least.
With a LOT of help, got the banquet hall set up, minor things to complete, but it's just about ready to go.
Rehersal at 630 tomorrow - I'm ready for vacation and a little unwinding.
Brent - my Princess turned 30(!) last month, yeah, I feel ya!! My step son is 43, and he will be attending along with his bride.
If y'all are in the area, feel free to stop on in. Wedding is at 1 Cocktails at 430 All in Hightstown.
Back soon!!
Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny and 65 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Will be volunteering at the chapter caboose today, so if you're near Cumberland, stop by...
Contemplating going to the train show in Martinsburg, WV tomorrow (10a-3p). This is the former Bunker Hill show, that will be in the old B&O roundhouse.
anjdevil - When you two visit Fifedom, I will have to tell your bride how her man fought through so much during that time, and never gave up. Cheers.
Yo,
Yesterday was my first trip to Walmart since February. Nope I did not like it!!! Dr apt was bitter sweet, bones are all healed and look fine,,,,but the nerves are trapped in scar tissue. This is going to Suck a little longer . What do you do?
Congrats Rich!!

Good afternoon guys and gals. Spent day over at Middle Princess castle, working the grounds. Came home, showered off, now reclinerizing with popcorn and , while Nascar race is on.
Did venture to Martinsburg yesterday, for the train show hosted by the Bunker Hill Train Club. Loved the roundhouse as a venue, and they say they will try it again October 29th. Picked up some scale people, and some wheel sets.
Evening folks!
Well, a couple days ago some plastic tub/drawers arrived from Walmart and I basically tidied up my train space in the garage. Engines and cars in the drawers, etc. It's looking better now.
So far June's been off to a good start... mentioned in the photo fun thread but I went on a very entertaining hike with a friend, over a long ago abandoned railroad with a few very severe washouts. We weren't expecting to make it as far as we did, but we ended up hiking all the way to the site of an old station and frieght house where a local trolley line connected with it. We'd been there before, but it was very different to come at it from the direction we did, following the right of way. I had a great time, and it was fascinating to experience that whole length of the route. We found many an old culvert, some with a very attractive 'keyhole' shaped arch. It was an exhausting, but very fun hike, one I'd certainly do again some day in the future.Take care all, stay safe-Ellie

Mornin' guys and gals. Overcast and 70 in the Potomac Highlands, with on the way. Public utilities out trimming trees, and already knocked the power off once today.
Glad I bought an ATLAS wheel set at the show. Wished I picked up more.... I knew that one of my ATLAS 53' boxcar's had a coupler + draft gear mysteriously snapped away from the wheel set assembly. When I went to replace the old one, I noticed it had fine cracks all over it. When I pressed on it, the truck assembly side frames started to crumble in my hand. Zinc pest, but on a hardly used 2009 piece of rolling stock. Woof... More specifically, this is the Wisconsin Southern Evans boxcar (pink cancer awareness). Both trucks had the same issue. Anyone else experience this?
Afternoon, everyone.
My trains had been refusing to run (that or run up to a point and stop), but I've solved the problem. I replaced a piece of fastrack with a new piece and they now run the whole loop of fastrack.
in other news: I just bought an RMT BEEP Diesel locomotive on Trainz.com looking forward to getting it and running it!
Evening all. Haven't done any train-related thing in a long time, been doing things around the house. I need to get started on my new layout, seeing I haven't even started and we have been here since August 10th.

Not to that extent, but I did have some Atlas couplers made around that same time period break on me. I replaced the whole truck assemblys with Lionel ones, although I had to do a little chopping and channeling to make 'em fit.
I'm not sure it was zinc-pest, but there was definately something wrong.
Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny and 58 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Will be volunteering back at the chapter caboose today and tomorrow.
Ms. Kelly wanted to hike yesterday, so we tried the GAP at MP10 (between Sunnyside and Mt Savage). Lots of bikes out. I kept looking for bears. Dessert first at DQ, then dinner at Cracker Barrel. Came home and mowed the back yard.
Flint - Yep, definitely a head-scratcher.
Smokey1 - 'bout time. Decide on a plan?
Fife, Zinc pest, Yeah I have had it on the truck sides of a Lionel 1992 NS Dash 8-40C. No replacement parts! I used JB weld to repair it. They just crumbled into chunks.
Been doing better till I got hit with another broken tooth and ear infection. Man! On meds so hope to be better soon. Trip to the dentist as soon as he can get me in.
Not much else.
Mornin' guys and gals. Clearing and 71 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. PT at noon, and will probably work on the flower beds today.
Did finish the caboose window "patch" up at WM station, by prepping plexiglass to fit over the smashed glass on CRR 1072. Chapter Prez happy with the fix. Talked to a lot of nice folks FRI-SAT, most notably Pack 266 from Indiana.
Train room projects included affixing a Concord Miniatures engine crew in my Williams 4-6-0, and prepping a couple Lionel truss rod flatcars for painting. Can't decide on color, black, brown or oxide red.
Good guy finished 1st at Sonoma yesterday.
well, the RMT Beep from trainz.com arrived and it's running great!
I love how much it can pull!
TheWaysideRailroader Evening folks! well, the RMT Beep from trainz.com arrived and it's running great! I love how much it can pull!
Those Beeps are pretty good little engines, I've got six! (It just happened)
Put two or more together and they'll pull just about anything!
Good afternoon!!
Wedding was great - thanks for the congas!! - Honeymoon was a washout and Jenni got food poisoning from some bad lobsta'. She's ok now.
Jenni is back at work today, first since just afore Christmas - so she's nervious and all that. She'll do fine.
I have a fleet of beeps, a bang and a beef - they run very nicely.
Kev - glad you are back on your feet - sucks about the nerves, though.
Softball tonight - went 1 for 2 with an RBI on Monday's loss.
Now that things will be slowing down a bit - we'll be discussing living arraignments - I will be definitely selling my house in October, that leaves Mom's and Jenni's. After that, who knows.
Fife - Visit is very overdue - we're discussing finances and trips now. Sunday-Monday since we both work on Saturdays
OK back soonest - I'm minding the "store" at work
Congratulations to you and Jenni 'Devil, and my sympathies to Jenni and her lobster experience. Sounds like what happened to me the last time I had crab.
anjdevil - Sunday-Monday works for us. The "Parisienne" room awaits.
Fife, you may want to hold the shellfish!
Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny & steamy in the Potomac Highlands. Wifey said something about a hike today, if so we'd best go early...
We held our local NRHS chapter at the American Legion's pavilion in Cumberland, right beside the Amtrak station. Nice turnout of members to enjoy and trains.
Becky - not to worry, no lobstahhh west of I-81.
Good Afternoon
Yeah, Jenni is opting out of seafood for a bit, lol and I do not partake.
After work, I brought Jenni her Charger to the local cruise night and I drove her HHR back home after. Had dinner at Friendly's, who is the cruise night sponsor.
Weather will be in the 90s today and in the 60s tomorrow --- like, what?
Sunday we'll need to find ou where Jenni's Dad is and my Princess will spend time with me on Monday when shes off.
Not much else - Happy Anniversary, LionRoar!!
Oh! Friendly's! How I miss them! They closed all their restaurants in Ohio several years ago.
Happy Father's Day. Sunny and cool along the Allegheny front range. Heading up the mountain to have brunch with stepdad after while. Other than that, just a nice quiet day will do just fine.
pennytrains Oh! Friendly's! How I miss them! They closed all their restaurants in Ohio several years ago.
Yes, we too! There was a nice one less than two miles away we went to at least once a month. They made a chicken pot pie during the winter that was fabulous!
The Friendly's collapse was a shocker. I suspect a MAJOR corporate foul-up on somebody's part. It usually happens when a holding company buys a business they know absolutely nothing about and then try to run it thier own way. Either that or they bleed it white of profits trying to keep their other concerns afloat.
