Not bad for the price...
Wow! That's cool all right! I couldn't pass it up for $2.99 either!
What I'd DO with the thing is another matter.
She won't float without modification!
U.S.S. Enterprise CVN 65
Pretty cool!

A ship with quite a distinguished lineage!

I remember selling those when I worked at Hills Department Stores in the Toy Department. They cost a lot more than $2.99! Great buy! Could make a great harbor scene!
Same me, different spelling!
Sometimes if something is big and awkward enough, people are eager to see it go at any price! That's a fair bit of material for your buck, all you need now is enough layout for it to have a harbor to sit in -Ellie

Loved Hills !We bought all of my eldest Daughters Christmas toys from Hills in the early nineties.
Well that is just a test track for Ho and O gauge equipment..the main layout down stairs is too densely packed to place the Carrier.
Is that the G.I. Joe carrier? I remember them being larger on display at Sears.
No it is made by a company named Redbox. The U.S.S. Flagg was actually larger.
Longer than 6 feet if I remember correctly.
True I have heard that complete examples have gone for a thousand bucks!
A friend of mine had one. She traded a complete Pee Wee's Playhouse playset for it.
Pretty impressive toy for sure
Just for fun I painted the underside and added a boot stripe..
Worthwhile for sure!
Definitely!
Certainly a good idea. Barnacles never sleep...
Man, that would make me want to model Norfolk, or Sandy Eggo.
Rails & Sails!
Glad you guys like it!
Also looks like it might be a good match for the Plasticville jets.
Yes I will have to search for them.
It's in the news here that a woman bought a 2000-year-old Roman statue in good condition and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars at a Goodwill here in Austin for $35.

So I heard!
For what it's worth whenever I see a Goodwill or any thrift store and I've got the time I'll go in for a look-around. Not that I'm looking to score big like the woman who found that Roman artifact but you never know, do you?
I have found some very handy "tools of the trade" and other things I've put to good use. In one thrift shop I found an 18th Century wine decanter for $20! Haven't found any good toy trains yet but it can happen!
I spotted a 512 standard gauge flat car with a well....I'm not sure what kind of can it was on top mimicking a tank car. Unfortunately the extra holes drilled in the legitimate car body combined with the high price tag kept me from buying it.
I found this 1/18 Ertl 40 Ford coupe at a church rummage sale for five bucks yesterday!
Nice!
