Asleep at the wheel this morning...

Found the aforementioned Oriole feeder, about 10 clicks into the woods, and mangled. I straightened the metal cage as good as I could, so that it will hold the suet balls once again. Birdies probably aren't that picky.

Mornin' boys. Mornin' Becky. Rather balmy and sunny, temps in the 60's already. A slight breeze is wafting through the yellow-green trees. That's right, we're in hayfever Hades.

We have baby doody, or duty, today. Wifey already over nurse princess home, and she wants me to bring her breakfast afterwhile. May skip watching the Kansas race, as it's usually boring, at least to these eyes.

The Derby was pretty good, as there was a 4 horse neck-and-neck finish at the line.

70 and sunny. Mid to high 80's.

Wifey went to BoJ's for chicken biscuits this AM. Resting and doing TV Church. Could have slept later if I had known that. Last night, she said we were going to in person Church.

Award presentation was great.  Lady was in tears.

Train show was OK.  Bought small transformer for some lights at $5.  Some like it but needed cords was $25.  ??

Have a great week ahead.

Hope this ain't an indication of things to come this summer. We have our first brushfire of the season already. They said someone was cutting a metal post with a grinder that started it  which just happened to be followed up overnite with 50+ mph winds. Last I heard, a couple hours ago, it was at about 3k acres and a few structures up in snoke.

Afternoon folks!

Nice sunny and warm today - 80's - nice after days of being 10-15 below normal.

Another slow start to my day - but gathered some energy and worked on reparing a cover to the control panel on the pool/spa heater. Plastic hinge and Texess summer heat = busted hinge. Went to ACE and got some small brass hinges and modified the cover and the control panel bezel for the hinges and SS screws. While at ACE also picked up a 4" shoulder bolt to replace the missing pivot bolt for the El Cam AIR pump. Then stopped at O'Reilly Auto and picked up some rattle can auto primer, some paint that pretty closely matches the El Cam roof, and the V-Belt for the AIR pump.

Tomorrow the auto glass guys come out to pull the windshield. Onward!....

DJ - around here the lumber stores carry garbage wood as compared to HD and Lowes - and charge more for it. To get good wood for furniture grade there are two woodworker hobbyist stores nearby (one is Rockler) - but both of these places require one to take out a loan to buy anything Stick out tongue

Green tea in the mug.

Decent weekend.  Spent the day Saturday at the Curve and Altoona.  Saw a few trains but not many.  Enjoy a video from the day.  Stay safe everyone!

Mornin' boys. Raining and 58 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Good day with the baby. Put together one of those floor mobiles with a keyboard thingie. I wonder if that's how church organ players got their start...?Hmm Daughter has Disney+, so I finally got to watch the Star Wars IX. Had some good moments, and some woke moments. Next...

What do you with a child that has artistic talent, but doesn't want to pursue it...?

Marty - Looks like you picked a good day for the Curve. Have they finally opened up the incline, or are they still forcing folks ro hike that stairway?

Fife let the child pursue what they want. It's their life, but there is no problem having that child do artwork for you and hope that child sees the ability they have. Wouldn't hurt to have someone over there when that child is there and point out some work that child has done and get compliments on their work. Even if you happen to know somebody who would use their work and see if they would do it for that person. I wish I had someone around here that I could get to help from time to time.

Slept till 8:30. Wifey slept later.   75 and partly cloudy. May or may not have a shower of rain this afternoon. Need rain [remember when we couldn't get it to stop raining]. Cooked red hot sausages and egg. Probably mow [growing grass and clover with it dry. Honey bees around  ].

Caddy back to dealer [yes again] for a reprograming of park assist. Probably 30 min wait.

May or may not go to Lowes and get conduit and etc. for deer feeder rebuild. Another bear[2] on Fred's camera and the one near the back road. That oneSleep did not touch feeder but was scrounging around on the ground. Could put electric fence charger on top with one of our big batteries [that is really what they are for] and screw insulators around outer bottom. Zap her if she touches the wire.

Enjoy the day.

Still hiking.  We would have had a couple more people with us if it was open but they can't do the stairs.

Morning.  78 and sunny.  Chance of thunderstorms later.  Got .14 inches of rain yesterday.  Mow today.  Go pickup conduit and etc. to repair deer feeder and hope make it bear proof.

Sam crossing the concrete from one of Wifey's garden to the house.  Finn walks right by him and he ignores Finn.  Finn ignores him.  Buddies.  Our only concern is all the bird houses and nests full of little ones.

Wifey off to work.

Slept till 8.  Cherry turnover for breakfast

Have a good one.

Chief - You have "Sam". We have Ssssssid. And we leave Ssssssid be, as he munches on rodents, and fends off cottonmouths.

Wiped all the track down with mineral spirits yesterday.  The tube sock I used was totally black by the time I was done. Trains running good today.  However, one of the Generals threw a traction tire.

Chief, I thought that was a NC politician. Laugh

Cooled way down after a sparce .2" of rain yesterday. Low 60s. It helped but we need more.

Ins man from State Farm coming over to do a review of our Ins needs. At my request. First time ever here. We have had the place 16 years.. What is wrong with this picture?

He said well we have good programs to help us know what you need. I said BS no way your program can know what we have. You just make sure you over charge to cover your a$$. Angry

Afternoon folks!

Storms last night with a little bit of actual rain at our house - other areas got a good soaking. Did not need it here. Back yard still a swamp. Did use the soft ground to pull some weeds - like it made any difference.

El Cam windshield is out. Now working on the remaining butyl rubber adhesive. Still somewhat soft but hard enough to make scraping it with a razor blade a challenge. Channel is not uniform so scraping is tedious. Very little rust!

Kev - I have never met my current State Farm agent of 20+ years - he actually declined to come out - I do have his cell - my previous agent before he passed came once a year. They make changing your agent a real pain.

Artists are a bit "different".  I know 'cause I'm one and I know I'm "different".  Wink  I stopped paying much attention in art class when a teacher gave me an F on a watercolor painting of Cinderella Castle I did because it was what I wanted to create with the supplies she gave me instead of what I was supposed to be doing.  Similarly, I always accepted last chair in the band because I refused to compete for my right to make music.  I just sat in the back row and played what the first chair was playing.  Whistling

We had plenty of rain and storms here today.  It has eased up now.

I am more than happy to have all my insurance needs/wants satisfied virtually and never have to do an in-person meeting.  I am happy we have the ability to buy cars this way too as I do not enjoy the car buying process and do not need a salesperson to tell me what I want/need.

Had a very good visit with Rick the Insurance guy. He learned things about us he did not know and I learned things I needed to know. Found out better ideas on train coverage and use of the John Deere Gator when I take it out of the property. He learned we had more than any program could consider. We were too much coverage on some and too little on other things. In person meetings with someone who is a "service provider" can never be replaced by a computer program and today proved that. But those 40 something’s like my kid and others think they know better about everything, but then in my 40s I knew much more than I do today. Laugh
Roy, our agent used to visit every now and then but when we moved 40 miles away, he tried to go virtual and today said that has been a mistake. All in all, I don’t see a big change in the bills but I know where I stand at least now I know why. I think a lot of what is wrong today is the we have given up the human touch. To those who like it otherwise,, go for it. Seems a shame, but goes to social media and hiding behind the keyboard.
Blood draw tomorrow for Dr apt next week. I am sure they will find something to give me a hard time for. Wink

Good Morning - Happy Sinko de Mayo

Grey and dreary today - rain off and on 60s

Penny - as a father and fiancee to 2 artistic and amazing artists, I complement and support when needed.  Yes, you guys are different, but in a really good way.  You and my "girls" are gifted and we are the better for it.  Your work is outstanding.

Jenni wanted my picture - we paid extra for it - so since yesterday was International Firefighter's Day:

Memorial Service tonight, need to scram outta here a little early and run over to pick up Jenni, then to the outer most reaches of the county - then Friday night and Saturday more local for our fallen brother's services.  Busy week - again.

Still have not gone over to get those photos and videos of the traveling OGF car - hope to do that Thursday as I may skip fire drill, I need to get caught up on my personal stuff.  Then over to Jenni's for a bit.

OK, Back to work - I have a fire video in the background while I do report critiques - the training never stops - .....and so it goes....

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Hello there,

Fife.....a gentle nudge and support for whatever they like.

Rich......great pic.....

Re insurance. I had State Farm all my life til a few years ago. Saved 48% by switching to better coverage on home and auto.

Busy weekend. Son got different days off, he's off  weekends, not sure how long. So , he decided to go racing Saturday nite. Did ok, top 4 in both classes. Sunday we went Hillclimbing. Not so hot there but we had a fun weekend.

Monday and Tuesday we got some much needed rain.

Yesterday the mini split arrived via freight. Surprised because it isn't very heavy. The new valve came the other day got that installed correctly this time. Giving the glue time to set so I'll fill it today. Then started to reassemble Grandson's quad engine. I managed to damage a new crankshaft bearing using to much force.  A new one is on the way

Not sure what today will bring other than Mrs and I both getting our hairs cut at 10

Best get on with the day.

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Well filled all the tubes with blood yesterday and the jar. Been getting results back and so far so good. Don't have the big lab stuff but all the single tests look fine.

Nice picture Rich!

We got two drips and a drop of rain over night. Hope it don't screw up the Trimeck I put down yesterday on those yellow flowers in the grass. Bang Head

Sounds like we will have the grand-dog this weekend so the kids can go to a water park for Mother's day. Could be worse I guess.

Not a lot else.
