Getting ready for a winter of running everything on the layout. Making a list of items needing work. We have (2) K Line rotating beacons - neither is rotating this year. New robber washer, new paper friction washer installed per instructions - nothing. K Lines are odd in that the rubber washer sits, fingers down, on the vibration motor. The paper washer is next, sort of a slick waxy paper, then the plastic lens housing. Very small gap between housing base and vibrating motor top. I can feel the vibration when powered up, but no motion. We've always run all our lights at 13-14 volts, and the beacons have never impressed with speed, but they were rotating last spring. Now, nothing. Any ideas? Or am I in the market for 2 new beacons to keep the twins happy? Do true Lionel 494s spin better?
