You ain't kiddin'! Sombody at Lionel must really like Daylights!
They better hope a lot of other people like 'em too!
Maybe they should have titled the catalog "Lionel 120, The Living Daylights!"
Good morning all,
Kind of a sad commentary there are more pages devoted to one tremendously expensive engine style than to O gauge (not O scale) rolling stock and those are six pack assortments. Another oddity is the 0-6-0 switch engines listed for 249 with conventional control ( as well as all the bells and whistles ) are only 30$ more than the 0-8-0 engines that are LionChief only. Hmmmm. Would it kill Lionel to make ONE ready to run set that you could still use a transformer with? Ugh. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Come to think of it, I didn't see anything shown as "LionChief-Plus," unless I missed it. I suspect it's probably cheaper and more efficient to make them all one way and not some one way and others in another way.
Sorry folks, I want that conventional option. Maybe I'm a dinosaur and my time has come and gone, but I don't think I'm alone.
Nope. You're not alone.

There's always NOS!!!
Nice catalogs, however there is only the on-line version for American Flyer. Went to my local dealer in Hanover to order and have to come back this week because he didn't have internet connection at the shop to get the item numbers. Is Lionel trying to end S-Scale production?
NOS?
Um, I hate to admit it but I'm kind of drawing a blank on that. What does NOS mean? Maybe when I find out I'll bang my head on a wall and say "WHY didn't I think of that?"
Wouldn't be the first time...
NOS = New Old Stock
Michael6268 NOS = New Old Stock
Ah, thank you so much Michael! I had no idea! NOS, I suppose I'll be haunting train shops and shows for those!
NOS is pretty much the same as MIB.
Here we go again.
MIB? Is that "Merchandise In the Box?" Or "Men In Black?"
The learning process never ends...

"Mint In Box!" Arghhh, I should have thought of that!
Usually if I think of "mint in box" the first thing that comes to mind is something from Russell Stover or "Junior Mints." Maybe "Peppermint Patties."
Well like I said, the learning never stops. The day you stop learning you might as well be dead!

I did not either but then again the ones they had in last years offers still have not arrived as said they would in December and now show June,,maybe? SO if they skip a year maybe they can deliver on time.
Talk about milking the GS cow dry......doesn't look like anything I'm interested this go around.....but then again, I'm not interested in any western railroads any how.
May have to visit my K4s and contribute to the layaway fund......
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
I'm not interested in western 'roads either, although I might make an exception for a used Big Boy at a decent price, or one of those Union Pacific "49er" streamlined Pacifics, you know, the ones that look like a brown and yellow slug? If I saw one of those used at a decent price I'd probably grab it. It's so ugly it's a classic!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of "fantasy" paint schemes either, but that doesn't mean others aren't.
Conrail blue and steam just don't go together very gracefully. But I do like the Chessie GS. If I had the money though, and the radii, I'd go after the preamble set on pg. 62. Look carefully at the O gauge pages from the high 80's on and you'll see the LionChief locos. Although most descriptions mention the "LionChief App." rather than a special remote.
I HAD A TOY STORY TRAIN SETIDEA BACK IN 1999......................................................................................
(in short MINE was better)
NO GAME OF THRONES THEMED SET????????? (Supposedly Freddy Kruger box cars are coming) and NOT sure what tmake of the Star Trek set
SURPRISING NO FROZEN HAND CAR (There was ONE in the sequel film an ACTUAL Handcar)
Better Question with the Chinese Lockdown when will products be available in USA?
Menards put out a "Gamer & Thrones" building not so long ago.
However, there's no Starks or Lannisters, no White Walkers or dragons, and no bad guys or worse guys. It's a plumbing supply warehouse!

Well after waiting 16 months and 16 days for my last Lionel order last year, from the year before. I Took,,, The jump and decided for this as my once a year train buy seeing as they have no Modern LionChief plus 2.0 offers in this years catalog. Now I just need a smart phone to run it??? Maybe I will get it by next year...

Can they make it so, that the Tribbles multiply as they run around the layout...?
For the comments relating to no LionChief 2.0, are you all just focusing on the Starter sets? (if so, I guess that is correct).
There are LionChief 2.0 engines on pages 90-93 though, the Allegheny and the F3s are all marked as new. I guess the Berks and the 0-6-0Ts are all previously offered since none are annoltated as new.
I agree it's not a lot, but it's something. To me it's particularly frustrating that they did the Polar Express Disconnect set with a LionChief (not Plus, 2.0, etc) when all the stand alone offerings of the exact same engine are LionChief Plus 2.0.
