Chargers vs Jets
Posted by TurboOne on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 8:22 PM
Lastly, snell50 you seem very smart and nice, but sorry to say my Chargers are going to send your Jets home with a different result than earlier in the season. San Diego is Pittsburgh bound. And yes I bet you two toots on that ![:D]

Just wanted to see if anyone else has an opinion on the game. Got your email snell50. It should be a great game. Chargers 33, Jets 17. Breeze, Tomlinson, Gates, and the entire Charger D. Sorry, no chance that the Jets are going to be able to run on them.

It is great that you are a football fan and a Train fan. I love both, that is why I root for the Chargers win or lose.

Tonights game is great, love watching SoCal teams actually beat the games best. You don't see that very often. Right now Trojans 48-10. Turn out the lights.

Chargers by 16!. What is your guess ?

By the way what got your interested in trains. ?

I don't know... I am guessing San Diego by 7 or 10...

I loved trains since I was born. When I was three I used to play with the little die cast Thomas The Tank Engine trains. When I was four My Dad and I built a HO layout.

After a while my Dad and I got really annoyed with HO with all the couplers on the track and stuff. On Dec. 6th 2004 my dad bought me a early Christmas pressent. The Lione Pennsylvania Flyer Train set. Now I LOVE O gauge..

Well any way, GO JETS! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I love the steelers, they are my second favorite team. But just like the last AFC championship, the steelers were favored then also, But the Bolts went to the SuperBowl, although the way they played SF, the Steelers would have made the game closer.

Besides gotta worry about the Jets first, or you don't have to worry about next week.

Go Bolts

here we go, sumthing i kno sumthing about, chargers are gonna win big. jets are backing into the playoffs and the chargers are a good team, they may get to the championship game, i'm not that impressed with the steelers of late, they are 15-1 but they havn't been playing at that level, but winning is winning, maybe they got sumthing. A jersey guy that likes the iggles ?? I thought you are suppossed to be a Giant fan. Charger fans thank the Giants for taking the problem child off of our hands.

Chargers vs Eagles that would be one heck of a game. But Steelers Eagles, or Patriots vs Eagles, all are possible.

SOUTH JERSEY! there is a difference. north jersey is where all the giant fans are. when u live 5 mins away from philly ur an eagles fan. south jersey is major eagle territory, we burn those who like the giants down here. i put south jersey as my location for a reason. anyway, if the eagles get to the superbowl, they'll get trounced, no recievers left, only westbrook can break through a defense and they can't use him every play.

Hey pennsy ed, I lost my shirt the last time the Eagles went to the super bowl. The hated, excuse me the MOST HATED, raiders clobbered them. As good as the Eagles are this year, they can't be forgiven.

But I will root for a Chargers-Eagles Super Bowl. Have to bet you a San Diego fish burrito for a Philly Cheese Steak, or whatever you think is best. I just have been a Charger fan too long. Never count them out, or in.

Cheers, and keep on rootin for the teams and trains.

Hiya Robert, a true Charger fans dream team. The Fouts era offense, with this years defense. Oh golly, that would be a team. This years offense, close, but lets see if they keep it up. Breeze will be free agent after the super bowl. Yes folks, it is the Chargers, gotta have rain somewhere on parade.

will brees keep it up? he came outta nowhere with this year, and what about rivers? they mite havta get rid of brees just because of the investment they made with rivers destroying any hope of a dynasty, at least in the next few years. this years eagle offense (w/ TO) and the 1991 eagle defense would kick that drea charger team's butt. we'll find out if the jets are as bad as they look tomorrow, or sunday.....when is the game? chargers 34 jets 14

The game is 5pm Saturday my time. The Chargers need to stay focused on the Jets, and with the rain due today, it will probably be a boring running in the mud game. I hear the Jets can pound with the best, so both of our scores could be run without the passing game available.

The dream match up would be great, but I don't think anyone could stop the Charger offense back then. I met most of the guys from that team, Dan and Kellen were not very friendly, but Charlie, Wes, and Muncie were great. Muncie is huge, and very funny. I met them during the era when the Chargers last went to the playoffs, 1997, and Muncie kept saying Natron Means was good, but took such little steps for a little guy. Also he had cleaned up, and worked in a Christian Church, along with coaching football.

rain.....didn't think of that, thot it was always sunny in san diego. tomlinson is great and so is martin, very interesting matchup. the jets also have a guy they can put in when martin gets tired who isn't too bad as well. guess it depends on how wet it gets out there, i played football one year, when it was wet we ran the ball, but when it was dry we ran the ball.....guess coach didn't have much trust in the passing game. from what i hear....the eagles defense then was great, they went out to kill people, laid out bounties on players, usually ordered by buddy ryan. the charger team was before my time...and that eagle defense was before i watched football so all i say is from what i've heard.

Chargers 38 Jets 24

Chargers 41 Steelers 28

Chargers 24 Eagles 17

We all can dream.........

My wife says Go Dolphins though.....this is an interesting house during football season and i'm lucky to have a sweet wife that enjoys the game along with me.

She is the one that thought i should get into HO trains and we are designing a layout together with the theme of WW2 germany. It will start out on a 4x10 bench and be DCC and we'll just go from there.

WWII germany. i've done too much reading about wwii germany to want to make a layout of that......all i know is what the *** used railroads for at the time....ok enuff of that. WWII was '39-'45, u prolly knew that, but just giving u an idea. chargers aren't scoring 41 against pburg....but i think the colts chargers and pats could all beat the steelers, they're not as good as their 15-1 record, they'll be like the vikings the yr they got beaten by atlanta.

John I thought it never rained here either. [:D] New forcast is calling for up to 12" over the next 4 days, but it is San Diego weather people. If the weather is something other than sun, they will get it wrong. We have had only light rain so far, so tomorrow could be ok, or a downpour.

As for the early Charger team: (deep voice, star wars music playing)

In a land, long ago, and far, far away...The greatest offense ever assembled. The 79,80,81 Chargers. Dan Fouts held out in his rookie year in order to get blockers as the Chargers were very, very, very, very bad. Captain Fouts got real blockers, and took them out for steaks if he didn't get sacked. Chuck Muncie was probably the best back ever, always played hurt, and then in order to chill the pain, got hooked on coke, but was a huge guy at RB and he could catch a ball. Charlie Joiner, John Jefferson, replaced by Wes Chandler were the WRs, and Kellen Winslow was a huge awesome catching TE. This team passed, and passed, and passed, oops a run, and passed, and passed. But the defense gave up points like a sieve. If there was a minute left and 80 yards to go, you knew the Chargers could, and probably would score. The only question was if they scored too fast, how long for the defense to give up a score. But they were exciting. I love games that have tremendous offense, say 48 to 45, with both QBs passing for 400 yards. This team was guarranteed to give you a heart attack.

Snell, WW2 was for the US 1941-1945 officially. Hey were is the Jet noise ? That is half of the fun, at least for another 24 hours.

Robert N Jo, CV has changed. They now have communities and in those the houses are $1,000,000 plus. Brand new schools, and every store shopping center like you wouldn't believe. How long ago did you live there ? Poor, poor Jo, you like the fish. Thats like being a Charger fan the last couple of years. Cool stadium, bad team, bad coach, oops hes gone, bad owners, bad draft, just bad. But look where we are this year, you never know anymore.

Robert did you get the Walthers catalog and see the huge military section yet ?

Tim,
I left CV in 95, used to work at ROHR as Q.A., Ex PRC native, mostly CV area and even stationed at 32nd street when i was in the Navy.....About them Dolphins......They is not fishes my sweet Jo says...but is mammals.....lol.....Got the Walther catalog and yes, drool.....great stuff.

Go Bolts!

Jocli,
On the layout it will be a German military complex in a mountain that the trains can hide from the allies with a river somewhere in the middle and a small town on the other side. Troop trains and armored trains....nothing like you might be thinking. 43-45 Era, have a few track layouts that will let me run atleast two mainlines at once on a 4x10.

GO BOLTS GO!

Robert n Jo

P.S. GO BOLTS!

Hiya Jo, yes I know they are not fishies, but in San Diego, we have always said "squi***he fish" so what do you expect out of football crazy fans, logic. Besides you got our Jr. and we may never forgive the bolts for doing his retirement classless. He should have retired a Charger. In about 12 hours we will know the outcome. Way cool.

Robert. ROHR moved to another state, less hassle. Any reminants left are like 6 high level people.

Glad you got the catalog. Remember looking at Playboy like we drool over trains now ? Age and time. Always fun.

Take care. Go Bolts.

seahawks? they're losing to the rams....it is the 2nd quarter and martz is an incompetent coach, but they'll probably not win this game. the defense has no heart and probably can't scare pinky, eagles wold beat them easy if they get that far. ooo faulk just scored 14-3.

espreefoamer, I thought I was an optimist rooting for the Chargers. Seahawks. You are a true football fan.

I do vote for the Seahawks on one thing. They have the ugliest uniforms ever made. Looks like mold running around. The team would add two wins just by going back to the old uniforms.

Two hours to kick off...Go Bolts.

u seem too unscathed to be a real football fan. maybe it's because ur from san diego and the people out there don't live and die w/ teams as they do in philly. after the eagles lost to tampa 2 yrs ago most fans had a mourning period, it varied, mine was a week. there were many that were a month and some still havn't gotten over it. this game hasn't been over for 10 mins and ur not aggitated at all. last yr after the eagles lost my mourning period was a day, i am getting more calloused as u must learn to do in philly. i'm 20, and none of the teams have won in my life.....i'm begining to think i choose a terrible lifestyle[:(]

I used to go nuts after games, but that was before I had kids. The whole town gets depressed, and there are more unhappy people, etc. After kids, I am lucky if I have time to watch a game, If the team wins or loses, I still am a dad. Getting mad is not a good thing in front of the kids, so I work very hard on being a great dad, and a mellow fan.I now appreciate good football, and being a Charger fan I am used to losing. Remember last year we were 4-12. Losing every year means it lowers expectations. Like we are happy to be better than 8-8. San Diego fans are different than back east fans.
I guess because we have so many options instead of sports. The beach, the mountains, the desert, Mexico, golf, trains, horses. Other than the 79-81 team, I don't remember having back to back good years.

Hey snell, come on back and gloat. Your team played well, but New England is the team to get to the Superbowl. Now I look forward to Pittsburgh vs New England. That is the superbowl for me.

kids do throw a wrench in behavior. i watched a game with a guy from my church who has kids, it was the tampa game, and as much as i wanted to i had to control myself. i did, but when i left i was still so depressed. i remember when the eagles stunk and having a record above 6-10 was good. now since they've had all their success, if they fail to get to the superbowl it will be considered a great failure. altho the chargers havn't been great recently, they've still gotten to the superbowl in the last 20 yrs.
