that's unreal Kevin. Looks like your going to have to send it back to Mario's. Hate to see you have to do that. Maybe try once more on calling Lionel, I don't believe they will be taking Monday off like all the banks and the post office and other goverment offices.

Yes RT,, weird??? He only has one left and I hope it is okay. Starting to think Lionel dumps their returns out to their dealers discounted at the end of warranty to get rid of them. Sad!

You may be correct about that, But as SJ said there seem to be a few over on OGR talking about the same problem.

On the subject of LionChief/Legacy/TMCC, one of the advertised selling points for both TMCC and Legacy was that they were able (with the right accessories) to run any Lionel train.

I wonder if fiture LionChief development will also make the same claim?

A lot of us have investment in several control systems.  I would not be happy if one goes obsolete and unsupported without a replacement by the latest control system.  That would leave another large investment in equipment (Legacy, for example) not runable.

Nothing better to do when it is cold. Run trains!!! Only took a minute for the five year old to get the hang of it. He has a much harder time with the transformer control. Laugh

The good news is it has run perfect all day????

SJ, is the new catalog out already?? Or did you see it on line?

not sure who but it was put out early by one of the dealers, and Lionel had it taken back down, even the pics that made it to OGR were taken down by OGR management at Lionels request.

It's coming out Wednesday the 23rd at 9 am. It's been released to the Hobby Shops and some passed them out. There's videos on YouTube if you want to see all the high-priced offerings!  Lionchief 2.0 Big Boys are interesting but way too high for the questionable quality....

Copied from the other forum

According to the catalog, page 76

"LC+ 2.0 - operate with bluetooth using Universal or LionChief App on your smart device OR via your TMCC/Legacy Cab or conventiona transformer"

And SJ told me $499 for a Berk, $349 for a diesel. That's catalog price

So that doesn't sound that bad to me.

Update: Now several weeks in and after much pain and fear over the smoke unit issues,,,the engine is running just fine. Maybe it was just how long it sat before getting run from when it was made. Mario who I got it from was more than fair with me on the issues that were Lionel's to bare but what do you do.

So at this point I would like to say,,,,it is a fine looking and running engine and my grand-kids love it. Can't ask for much more than that. All you need to do is watch the video of Jordan running it!
