Yep, it's that time of year again! Show off your handiwork!
A couple of weeks ago I acquired an American Flyer 310 Pacific:
Over the summer I sold my Les Paul Goldtop and this is what I did with part of the money. So I figured I'd show that to you guys first.
Independence Hall has moved back from 6 years of Disneyland service.
And the Doctor has arrived:
Have fun! And Merry Christmas!
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
I sold a Fender P- bass and used part of the cash for the 726rr. It's amazing how much those old instruments appreciate ! Great pictures! I need to get one of the Flyer Pennsy engines to round out my collection...
I sold a Fender Precision Bass and a Peavey CS-800 to raise enough money for an engagement ring for my (now) ex-wife. What a waste!
What kind of track is that in the TARDIS/Doctor pic?

It's extra tie Lionel O scale tubular. I added popsicle sticks too.
"As you exit the tram, please be sure to take all of your belongings with you, and grasp small children firmly by the hand."
"There are several ways to visit Disneyland. If you're a first time visitor, you may enjoy the guided tour. Returning guests will recall the value of ticket books. The Big 10 and the Deluxe 15."
Let's see if I can get this to work.
Great job! That Monorail is especially nice. I see you have your tree up, feeling like the holidays!

It's a TOY, A child's PLAYTHING!!! (Woody from Toy Story)
Oh, it worked all right Becky, it worked.
With that video and the other shots you posted I need to take a moment and pick my lower jaw up off the floor. Wow.
And LL675 those are some nice shots too, a real time travel trip back to the 50's!
I goofed, had to make a change:
The version with music was supposed to be for my own personal use.
From 2 years ago.
I'm planning on making a new video this year since I've since gotten an HD video camera, and since upgrading to Windows 10 this year, I can now pull videos directly from the camera and get them online faster.

I spent the day doing a bit of stop motion animation. I think you'll like this version better than my previous one.
Some pictures of my son's wide gauge layout under his tree from last year. We are making a new one again this year.
Fantastic stuff guys!
Kevin I love the on board video!
L675: A classic look done right!
Major, your son's layout is a dream!
Always enjoy seeing others trains at Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing work from all of you! Thanks so much for posting!
Video of this year's tree and a ride around on the Lionel, this time in HD.
I was hoping you would post this here too! I love the "on train" sequences!

One last look at my old layout. My sister, Katie, provided the imagery (a birthday present to me before we moved).
Penny Trains I was hoping you would post this here too! I love the "on train" sequences!
I was taking it kind of easy when doing those. Unlike the digital camera I used two years ago, I didn't have my Sony Handycam rubberbanded to the flat car. I was afraid that if I went to fast it would vibrate off behind the tree out of reach. Would have made for a different video then.
Video #2 featuring mayhem on my postwar layout. Enjoy!
Oh wow, that was fun!
Was that the Lionel paper "Wartime Train" I saw charging across the carpet?
And did I see your 2035 out for a romp on the mainline?
By the way, I glad The Doctor survived his encounter with that steam engine, but as Tom Baker once said in the series...
"I am a Time Lord. Having lived in the future how can I die in the past?"
Firelock76Was that the Lionel paper "Wartime Train" I saw charging across the carpet?
Yep. But it's a Greenberg repro from the 80's.
P.S. I'm working on the final segment now, featuring a bit of standard gauge and clockwork O.

I thought it might be the repro, I remember you saying you put one together a few years back.
Quite an achievement, if the repro was as tough to assemble as the original.
Probably harder since the originals were die-cut and on the repros you have to figure out just exactly where the slots are and how big the tabs should be. It's a bit of a headbanger!
Our layout is my father's 1948 Lionel 1423w starter set, complete with track and original transformer(that I put a new cord on this year finally). Have to keep it simple thanks to having 4 dogs. There is a milk platform(need to find what box the milk car is packed away in still) and a Marx Girard station. Engine runs flawlessly as does the whistle tender. I upgraded the old 1655 with a NOS power chassis a few years ago from Madison Hardware before it was sold. I have the original but its so worn out that the engine barely runs forward anymore. My grandfather bought the set in 1949 second hand from the neighbors who's boys had lost interest. I was first exposed to the wonders of Lionel during Christmas 1978 when the Tyco HO sets that I was given died in short order that morning. The set became a Christmas tradition again every year till I turned 12. That year it wasn't set up when we got to my grandparents in Ohio. It was wrapped up under the tree that year, and it was mine to take home. Grandpa deemed me ready and able to properly care for the set. As you can see, she still earns her keep every holiday season. Merry Christmas Mike and Michele T
Silly NT's, I have Asperger's Syndrome
I really want to put a loop around the tree but I wonder how safe it will be. I have two very active children
This is about the 6' - 7' area of our 9' tree.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

We had 2 cats when I was a kid, they mostly just stalked the train and watched it run. Never really bothered it otherise. Even while mom and dad were at work and myself and sisters were at school for the day. A squirt gun will train the cat to stay out of the tree. Mom did that with all the cats when we got a new one
We never had cats, but we did have Basset Hounds, still do.
Bassets don't usually bother with anything that isn't food, but we had one, Tillie, who liked to sleep under the tree with her 75 pound butt slung on the tracks! Yep, "Dogzilla" blocking the main line!
One we had, Bruno, was fascinated by the trains under the tree. When I sat down on the floor for an operating session he'd sit right next to me watching the action.
Just like a Lionel magazine ad, "A boy, his dog, and his trains!"
Two we had, Siegfried and Tristan, were interested in the trains until their cold wet noses bridged the inner and outer rails. ZAP! THAT lead to some furious barking at the layout and the trains!
