Was able to pick up the Williams Lehigh Valley GP 38 Dummy to compliment the powered unit.

Here are a few pictures of a fun little K-Line speeder set that was sent to me from a generous forum member from South Carolina.  It runs great on the UTB RR and the kids love it.

Nice photos everybody!  Chuck, I like that little wind up handcar.  I've been working on painting a backdrop for the North Bend portion of the Mid Atlantic Railway System.  For a non-artist type, it was a real challenge, but I think it turned out pretty nice . Before starting on the backdrop I read (several times) about backdrop painting in two Model Railroader publications, Scenery for Your Model Railroad: From Backdrop to Tabletop by Mike Danneman and How To Build Realistic Model Scenery (3rd Edition) by Dave Frary.  I also watched a "How to Video" about painting a backdrop on the Model Railroader website.  They were real helpful as this was the first backdrop I had ever attempted to paint.  I was trying to get a "hills of Pennsylvania look" and I think I kind of captured it.  Bo  Smile

Nice pictures as always, everyone!  Here is a short video I shot today of a windup Marx 533 running out and back on the windup layout.  The challenge is to wind it just enough to so that it stops on its own by the enginehouse, close to where it started.  I modified the windup motor's governor so the locomotive runs quite a bit slower than a stock Marx windup motor... slow being a relative term, when it comes to clockwork trains!

Chuck, thank you.  Truth be told, my wife helped me with mixing the colors.  Used a photo off the internet of some Pennsylvania hills as a guide for both the colors and the shading.  I too am pleased with how it turned out.  Bo  Smile

Railfan23 - I like the looks of your layout, has a nice 50's feel about it.

JamesP - Great clockwork set! It seems we both have the same Marx station, missing the canopy I mean. Have you ever seen one with one?

Bo - The backdrop looks nice!

JoeD - The UTB set looks convenient and cool.

Ray, I understand that the Marx station was sold with and without the canopy; #2890 w/ canopy, #2898 w/o. I'm sure that the canopy was routinely lost or broken (it probably wouldn't have survived my childhood Big Smile).  I have seen a few with the canopy and like the looks of it, though... maybe someday I'll find one for the layout.

A closeup picture of the station:

James - Upon a closer look at my station it appears that there was never any canopy. It would seem that if there ever was one I would see some scrapes or scratches around the holes. I have seen a few pictures of these and 99% don't have a canopy. I guess if you can find one with it, it would cost quite a bit.
