sounds of steam
Posted by kpbart on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 1:15 PM

Am I able to lower the sound level on a lionel 6-3100 sounds of steam engine/tender? If so how do I do it. I have no owners manuel and cannot see any volume control of either unit. Thanks

sound of steam boards have a fixed volume. you could try a piece of carboard taped across part of the speaker to reduce the sound. or a piece of foam in front of the speaker.

I have one of the musical Christmas boxcars that does not have a volume control. It's way too loud for under the tree running. To lower the volume I just stuck a piece of shipping tape over the speaker holes under the frame.

When I run the train at the club's layout, I remove the tape for full volume.
