Ryan,

Shelving in a starirwell wouldn't be my first choice.  All it would take would be to carry one thing that is too big and accidentally knock something off the shelves.  Have you considered shelving alongside your layout?

Great pictures everyone.  Here's my latest. 726 Berk from 1948-49 with a 2426W tender.  Needed next to nothing and runs as good as it looks.  It's has that smoothness and attention to detail that seemed to disappear from Lionel production after 1949.

looking good every one, been pondering some train shelving my self. unfortianatly, the only large wall spaces I have are in the stair well going to the basement, Its a wide 44 inches, but i just dont see any good coming out of display shelving in the stair well,   Any thoughts?

How's this for a "classic"?.  A friend from the office found it while cleaning out a trunk that used to belong to one of his uncle's.  Knowing of my interest in trains he gave it to me.

It's a wind-up train made of lithographed tin.  It has no manufacturing marks on it, the name on the locomotive says The Joy Line.  The guage on the wheels is one inch, making it neither S nor O.  Not much to go on.

I'll be going to a few train shows in the next couple of months.  Hopefully some toy train collector can come up with a spare wheel.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
