As mentioned in another thread, CTT did an article on David Smith's 027 layout that also has a video on youtube. I have watched the video several times before the article came out. The article helped to fill in the blanks about the track plan etc. It got me to thinking maybe CTT could do a series of articles about the many layouts that have youtube videos that we enjoy watching over and over again. They could call it Great Toy Train Layouts of Youtube or something. Just look for the ones that have the most views and write articles on them.

I'm not sure how much bang for the buck this would be, running in the magazine. Especially since all you need to do is go to Youtube and search toy trains or lionel trains. Besides, once you find one, their search engine suggests other similar videos.
It might find some use in the digital edition, since you could just click through, but for paper readers, the utility would be pretty limited since they'd need to copy the urls.

Here's a layout that's only been up a few months that I like. The video shots pace the train a little and also show more than just a lionel train going in circles. There is switching and direction changes:

Another really good you tube video is "American Flyer Switching operations:

And then there is the masterpiece Greatest Lionel/ K-line / MTH 3 rail toy train layout:
