old lionel engine identification

i picked this shell and steam chest up in an ebay lionel lot ..its not a 1666 like a thought..anyone have an idea? would be nice if anyone had a pic of a complete one

Its hard to tell by the photos is there slots for a seperate number plate on the cab?

Any part numbers cast on it?

It might be a later scout, not sure with out clear photos.

try taking some photos out doors or with a flash.

I think the 4 pane window frame might help narrow down a search a bit.

It's a 1939-1940-1941 229 or 1664 2-4-2.  It's the only loco to use that particular boiler casting.
