"Tinplate Central Lines" Layout
Posted by NYC20 on Saturday, January 14, 2012 2:25 PM

Has anyone built this layout or one like it?  It appeared in the book "Layout Plans for Toy Trains" by CTT, published in 2002, but it contains dates from 1996 so I presume that it was first published before 2002.  It was designed by John Long.  It packs a lot of action into a moderate-size layout (about 8' x 16').  The wiring diagram is rather complex.  I'm sure that I could figure it out given enough time, but if anyone has wrestled with it and could answer a few questions, that would save me a lot of time.  My questions are more about operation than actual wiring.  For example, how are the Auto Pilot switches intended to be used?  Thanks!

John Long can be found on another forum. You might go to the source.
