I need a Marx 1666 smoke element

I need to build or purchase a smoke element for Marx 1666 Steam Engine. I have 20 guage copper wire as lead to element and 32 guage nichrome as the element.  What do I need to wrap the smoke wire around?   I need to have an element that will last for a while.  I hope someone can help me.  Thank you in advance.
